    HELP Bent pushrods why?

If you have two springs and a flat wound dampner inside the outer spring. You have a dual spring assembly with a dampner. This means that you'll have to pull the heads and send them to a machine shop. They will have to cut the valvespring pockets on the heads to use these springs. The springs...

    HELP Bent pushrods why?

You must have some sort of mechanical bind somewhere! Did you check the installed height of the springs? They must be installed correctly. If you are using stock heads and valves the keeper grooves on the exhaust valves are alot lower on the stems then they are on the intake valves. This would...

    HELP Bent pushrods why?

Could be coil bind! Meaning the springs are stacking. Did you check the Installed spring height? Or just throw them on? It could also mean not enough piston to valve clearance! Or the rockers not adjusted right meaning too tight. It could also mean the valves were floated OVER REVVED. Usually...

Put on my Drag-Lites but i have a problem....

I had the same problem. I just installed Airlift airbags inside the rear coil springs. I put in about 15-20 p.s.i in them and they don't rub at all. Plus they help at the track too.And they don't really take away from the ride quality either. I also run 295-50/15 B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's on...

My 5.0 carbed motor has a MISS!!!!! WTF, HELP

Try seperating the #6 and #5 Plug wires from each other. You may be experiencing ignition crossfire in these two wires. Just don't run them side by side. And check your total timing with a timing light. This may help.

    Rebuilding heads need serious help

Usually when I do these heads, I'll go with the 69-70 351-w valves. Or aftermarket Manley performance valves. The factory replacement valves for the 351-w measure 1.840" for the intake and 1.540" for the exhaust. The overall length is 5.070" The Manley performance valves also are offered in the...

    Changing valves

The valves that are necked down on the stem will increase the flow #'s a small amount in stock valve size. Not enough to really tell by the seat of the pants. If your going to buy new valves. Your better off getting 1.94 Intake-1.60 Exhaust valves with the necked down stems. There about the same...

8.8 upper control arm bushing removing from axle housing??'S

The drill idea works great. That is how I did it. As far as whacking the bushings with a hammer. You have to be careful that you don't break off the ear on the axle housing. If you do this the rear end is junk.

How far to push 28 spline axles?

Upgrade to the 31 spline axles.I broke two 28 spline axles in my 85 G.T. The car runs 12.50's in the 1/4 on ET. Streets. I snapped them off on the drivers side right at the end of the splines. Luckily this happened on the starting line and not going 110 M.P.H. down the track. The first one had...

    Best valve stem seal?

The best seals to use are the positive type "VITON" valve seals. The TEFLON P.C. type seals DO NOT have a memory. Meaning if they are not put on right and get distorted they retain the distorted shape. They also rip if they are not put on right. This is not good for sealing the valve stem. The...

Red SVO at SeekonkSpeedway in the spectator drags anyone know him??

I've been to Seekonk speedway many times. And I just have to say the place is a #$%&HOLE. The racing is really good. But one would think after 55 years of being there. They would clean the place up. The last time I was there my wife cut her stomach on a chain link fence that was falling down and...

Need horn button?? Anyone have a air bag steering wheel laying around?

You have to change the whole switch. The local Ford dealer usually has these switches in stock. I believe the last one I bought was like $12.00. Just disconnect the battery and unbolt the nuts for the airbag on the backside of the steering wheel with a 10 mm 1/4" Drive socket. Then pull off the...

T-5 experts-- Chewed up Output shaft

This is usually caused by not enough tranny fluid in the case. Or the driveshaft could be bent. If there is any vibration in the driveline it can travel up the mainshaft to the pocket bearing Right where the mainshaft and the input meet. Also having the pinion angle not correct will cause the...
