Mach 460...Are these the correct speakers in my door?

If you use a 4 ohm speaker with the wiring the way it is the amp sees a 2 ohm load and shuts off. I read the woofer speakers in the car are not stereo. They have a cutoff at low pass cutoff at 300hz sending the higher frequencies to the tweeter/midrange speakers.

Mach 460...Are these the correct speakers in my door?

Its been awhile since I read about the mach 460 so I forget specifics. Anyhow, whatever impedance the speakers are combined with how they are wired, has the amps see a 4 ohm load. I think it was in parallel, someone else can do the math on that, but I think it comes out to a 6 or 8 ohm speaker.

Mach 460...Are these the correct speakers in my door?

Aftermarket speakers can cause the problem your having, they impedance they drive is too much for the amplifiers and they shut themselves down. You could switch the speakers back to Mach 460 ones, or go to aftermarket amplifiers.

Mach 460 as a stand-alone radio system in other vehicle?

In the coupe system under the rear deck is a 10 liter (size?) enclosure for the 6x8 woofers under which two amps are located. The convertable system uses a similar arangement but the boxes are separate and located on either side in front of the rear seat. The Mach 460 system uses in front...

Mach 460 as a stand-alone radio system in other vehicle?

I thought about adding one to my GT after I listened to it in the Mach 1. I think it could be done with a system from a convertable. Just would need to put the tweeters in the dash, cut out the door panels for the 6x8's to fit, and then figure out how the two 5 1/4 speaker boxes will work...

pulling the 5.4 3v for gas milage

I drive 40,000 miles a year for work. My 10,000lb work truck with a Chevy 6.0L V8 gets 12-13 mpg. Roughly 833 a month in gas. I have recorded as low as 15 mpg in the Mach 1 with my foot in it for most of the tank. I'd say try to keep those high speed runs to once or twice a week. At full...

    rough idle?

Inspect all your vacuum hoses, especially the one running from the vac tree under the intake to the charcoal canister. Its prone to cracking.

    Satellite radio install locations

Well it depends, you can't just glance at it while driving, but it stays out of the way for me. Keeping my interior stock looking was more important to me than the functionality of the radio.

According to my butt meter my 9,600 lb 6.0L V8 work truck is faster than a v6 charger. That was a rental, I dunno how the Hemi chargers feel though.

    Satellite radio install locations

I have mine hidden in the console. I used the suction cup mount to place it close to the top for easy use. I put the antenna on the rear deck, ran the wire up under the carpet and into the console. Then I power the unit with the cigarette lighter plug from the console. When its closed...

    Forged Crank

Mach 1, Aviator, Marauder, Cobra and GT500 all have the same cams. Mach 1/Cobra/SVT-Shelby intake lift = 10mm = .39730 " Ford GT cam intake lift = .43858" Increase of intake valve lift = 0.04128" (just over 40 thousandths) Mach 1/Cobra/SVT-Shelby exhaust lift = .39730 " Ford GT...

    Forged Crank

All 03+ head 4V 4.6 engines used the same cams. Ford GT cams are different along with the heads, the GT500 uses the same heads but I believe the same cams as the 03-04 cobras. The whole different intake cam information started with everyone comparing the Mach 1 engine to the 99-01 Cobra...

1996 - 2003 dash, int in Fox body

I tried to find pics but 79-82(?) mustangs have the door handles low on the panel, down by where the speaker would be. Those should work with the sn95 dash.

    Forged Crank

The mach 1 uses a different timing cover from 03-04 cobras. The cobra uses a unique setup for the blower. However they share the same heads, exhaust manifolds, crank, and camshafts. Mach 1 Cobra - note the location of the pulley

    MSD COIL BUZZ

Mine did the same thing, I figured I could put up with it since I ran one in my Bronco. Its so much louder in the mustang though. I just put a stock coil back in since I have 3 laying around. I don't notice a performance difference either way. I'm sure the ford coil does the job just fine.
