    afr 205's on stock 302

Allow me to call this as it is.... plain and simple :bs:..... or are you now going to explain that a person that has two jobs + studies in an university, is going to spend his limited budget "renting" a Lincoln LS?... OK!... let me say it a little more specific then.... have you worked on LS...

    afr 205's on stock 302

.... do YOU really understand what you just posted?... or are you now going the rainbow style? Here's a little insight on how to better performance/solve problems. 1. More air or A/F DOES = more power. 2. If you solve the first part of the equation (= getting more air...

    afr 205's on stock 302

Second the matched combination is best statement, but why are those heads "too large"? Wouldn't a more aggressive camshaft be a "band-aid" to compensate for smaller cylinder heads? I've worked on smaller CID engines with dual 1.728" intake valves (the equivalent curtain area of a single...

I guess you missed the whole point........ .... or let me rephrase, if the piston and valves clear, whether you have to notch or not.... Why would it be limited in valve lift?

    afr 205's on stock 302

Why would it be limited in valve lift? If the valve springs and valve train is set correctly, and .600" lift is required (as an example), notching the pistons has no effect on total valve lift.

... so there are 165cc cams, 170cc cams, 185cc.... etc rated cams? I guess exhaust scavenging doesn't play a role on the intake charge either then..... right? ..... you have a xxx cc port there (static), and camshaft events (dynamics) cannot affect the A/F charge whatsoever... right? I wonder...

    Installing new TPS, correct way?

Be my guest, I use the information and diagrams from Tom at your site as reference material everywhere..........BTW, you may also want to use the table format of the procedure extract, from the Ford TSB that deals with the IAC bypass plate here.... a small "Thank You!" payback, for the great...

347 stroker combo... good or bad???

Suggestion..... if you're going to spend $3G + on top of what you have until now, and a custom cam grinder is in your plans, you may want to see what he can contribute in terms of defining your combo. A streetable 347, not capable of dialing low 11's mid 10's (based on the money you have +...

347 stroker combo... good or bad???

2500-6000 rpm range in a 302 is ~ a 2175-5220 rpm range in a 347. The areas you might want to consider are heads and cam. The following is a 331 the owner was having problems trying to make it perform. Same 331 with the changes noted at the bottom....... Difference was night and...

    Code 41 and 91

You should rerun the KOER with the FPR disconnected and line plugged. From the FP leakdown results, looks like either the FPR, FP to sender hose section inside the tank, or the FP check valve (= FP unit) might be at fault. As soon as you can find a section of the return line that can be pinched...

    Code 41 and 91

Yep... the return line is the smallest from the the two lines at the fuel rail, or the line that goes connected to the port that comes out from underneath the FPR. If you crimp the feed line by mistake, the engine will simply shut down or not start. LUK

    Question about weird firing order

Looking at the distributor cap from the front and using the LH cap holding clip as reference, the #1 cylinder post is the second one CW from the clip.
