BTW, I looked in your profile, nice car!
I've had and sold:
1983 Capri RS Black Magic (shoulda kept that one!)
1999 Laser Red GT Convertible
1986 Saleen Hatchback white/blue #122 - sold last year (shoulda kept that one too!)
Currently have:
1999 Bright Atlantic Blue S-281 #122...
Paul, I didn't own the 2F2F car, a friend of mine in VA bought it on Ebay a few years ago. He just sold it a couple of weeks ago. I had the blue car at Cecil a few years ago, 13.19 at 107 was the best I could get out of it on street tires. Not bad for a 3900 pound vert with my fat ass in it :D
For red, you could get any of the standard mustang colors. Lizstick Red looks nice in pictures but it's amazing in person, it just jumps out at you.
Here are 2 pictures of the un-numbered 2F2F car that survived the movie...
Trust me, in bright light it glows a lot like the victory blue car...
Mike, I had the opposite experience, but that's when Carlos was running the parts department. I called up and got a spare set of 122's for both cars. They were slightly different which is why I had to get both sets.
It has an E hood which is why I thought that might be it. I have a couple
of pictures of it as well, but they are outside shots and the color looks a little
more greenish than in the picture you posted. I looked long and hard at that car, I
seriously considered selling mine to buy it...
I own the car Joe (Donkey Punch) mentioned, but that's not mine in the picture. I'm thinking the car pictured
*might* be the only S-281E Saleen made in Victory Blue, but it could also be a bright atlantic blue like my car.
The more I look at it, I'm pretty sure it's one of the 2000 model...
It looks like hell at the moment, but I'm working on the body... hopefully it will be painted in March and ready to race by June.
Trans is out getting rebuilt since I have a rear main leak I have to fix as well. Lots of small stuff to do yet.
To make room (and $$$) for my Daytona Coupe project :D
I really didn't want to destroy the 86 to make it into a track car, I felt it was better
to leave it stock, sell it and build something from the ground up.
Turns out we had 5 cars all together, a red 06 Coupe, a red 68 Fastback, a white 93 convertible, a blue 71 Boss 351 and my 99 Saleen convertible. They had 4 of the Philadelphia Eagle cheerleaders decked out in outfits to match the cars.... pretty cool day we had. Don't know if/when they are...
Dan, send me whatever info you have. If I can make it and the car is back together, we'll see what happens.
I just finished grinding and filling the seams, starting on the rest of the body. Hopefully ready for paint sometime in March....
Hey Dan, you gonna have that bucket of bolts painted by then? :D
If mine is painted by then, maybe I'll bring it.... too far off to know if anything else
is going on that weekend yet.
LOL, right now you wouldn't want to see it. Side pipes are off, tranny is out getting rebuilt and I just
ground down and filled all the body seams. Hopefully it will be painted around the end of March
and back together for racing by some time in May. Here's a pic from an auto-x this year...
Global West makes a 1 inch drop front spring, I think they are 800 inch/pound. I had a set in the front of my Saleen for a while, they rode pretty good with the N2/Bilsteins.
