How is your boost gauge hooked up?

Autozone has 'em for sure. If you can't find one let me know and I'll mail you some I've got. Wes

    Dyno #s

This particular car was already dynotuned by another shop but I offered to try to work a little magic on it. I baselined it when it came in on the old tune and then retuned it. We ended up making it both safer (AFR was in upper 13s in higher RPMs on old tune) and made more power. I worked...

Better be getting rid of that FMU and 24s and going with some 60s and a second pump. :rlaugh: I've got some more (safer) power in it for ya with more precise fuel control. :D Wes

Kenneth called me today and said NPR is open for TNT on the 7th, gotta see if a Wed night works for everyone. You coming to "Wes's Fun Dyno Day" tomorrow? I'm pitting a bone stock S197 stick vs auto with identical tuning to see if the 5R auto tranny holds its own. We'll probably have a bracket...

    mass air question

It would work "ok" for down low but I would honestly just buy or troll up a stock sensor (I bet a lot of guys on here have some). The MAF is the brains behind the operation, you want it as accurate as possible so that you aren't over/under fueling the motor. This is one of those things you want...

30# injector car last nite with similar #s had 68% dutycycle. Same fuel pressure - 39psi base) Wes

Hey dude, 3650 if I remember correctly. Your #s with the blower/stock hci are holding up quite well against the built hci cars. :D Wes

There's quite a few different variations of standard conditions and calibrations, that factored into dyno calibration and accuracy really makes it a mixed bag - I do not believe there is any way to compare runs with precision between different dynos. Even the way you strap the car can change...

    Dyno #s

Therein is the kicker. No two dynos are identical. BUT... I have quite a few customers that dyno on mine and then the DynoJet down the road. 15-18% is the spread on the N/A cars. The forced induction cars seem to have quite a bit more spread, turbos especially since they thrive on load. I...

    mass air question

I run into it every month or so - people buy MAFs for their 94/95 with Foxbody calibrations or C&Ls with Foxbody sensors in 'em. I'll tune it in (I like working with factory electronics) and they always work great. Wes

Another good bit of data, injectors were at 88% dutycycle at peaks on this combo. Wes

900rpm was where we left it - below that the adaptive learning really got thrown for a loop with the overlap. Lots of work with ISC/fueling/HEGO delay. I do not think most tuners would go through the hassle but he wanted a better idle and more lope. Cam sounded very nice. :) Wes

I've got quite a few back to back comparisons - 15-18% is pretty normal on N/A, I've seen 20-25% on turbo cars and vehicles with poor aero. Wes P.S. Nothing like tuning on a dyno capable of holding accurate load. I got to use a DynoDynamics unit/Pontiac GTO at PRI in Orlando and really liked...

    mass air question

Agreed. P.S. With tuning it will work perfectly (and has been done) but untuned I'd stick with the parts designed.

Thought I'd post up a tune from last nite that is fairly typical and gives Grady some more fodder to play with. :D Last pull (and chart below) was done in "DynoJet" mode on the MustangDyne (which in my experience is still about 3% less than the DynoJets around us but good enough for comparison)...

Heads lifting under boost? or blown headgasket? x5

Want to shoot me a copy of your MTF file? I'll look it over and see if anything looks strange. Wes

Heads lifting under boost? or blown headgasket? x5

That's where the tune part comes in. :-D Wes P.S. I'd shoot for 11.5:1 AFR and 16* timing to start. P.P.S. Make sure your heads and block are flat as well.

While im askin 1 more ? for the night EGR

I too would hang on to the EGR. I've noticed a marked improvement in MPG on guys that I tune that still run EGR. Plus you can increase the EGR dutycycle in the tune and get even more. :) Keep it unless it is broken! Wes
