    1985 CJ7? (5.0 will not start)

Pretty sure I've seen that pic over on the Jeep Forum... nice flex. Problem could be a bad vac leak. Loss of vac will make the fuel pressure go high. Would have to be really, really bad to keep it from running at all. Flooded on start: the fuel pump should only run for a few seconds when...

    What hole is this?

My bad... first one. From where the threads start to where they finish is tapered. IOW, the diameter of the pipe that's threaded is tapered. Take a look at the wiki ref posted earlier about NPT. I just looked at the pic of your oil pressure sender above. It appears that the thread on the...

    What hole is this?

Pipe thread (NPT) is angled, so the further it's screwed in, the tighter it gets. A few threads left showing is fine... as long as it's tight. A bit of thread sealer is always nice, but just use a bit because the sender does need to get a good ground contact with the block.

    What hole is this?

You wont get that tap in there. If you measured the thread area at 1/2", then the thread is actually 1/4" NPT. [edit] Blown88 has the right idea. Just take the sender to the hardware store and match it up.

    oops..fuel pressure question

So ya still have the stock fuel rails installed? Just behind the alternator, there's a pressure valve in the fuel rail, just like a tire valve. Just wrap a rag around a screwdriver and depress it. All you'll get is a little spray of fuel for a second, no big deal.

New to forum, help going back to stock

I believe the hose that comes out of the bottom of the TAD (rear valve) goes to the cylinder head crossover tubing. The hose that comes out of the rear of the TAD goes to the cat pipe. Just rubber, but molded to shape to make it fit nice. Hoses don't go thru the firewall at all.

    Bad valve cover gasket?

It's probably just a VC gasket. Looks like there's a loose header bolt, too... pics 1 & 2.

    Edelbrock performer rant

I'm still running the earliest style Edelbrock Performer 5.0 intake, bought when they first came out with that and the heads. Haven't had any of those problems. I changed from the dual fitting, dual hose PCV to a single and haven't had any oil puddling in the big chamber. Maybe the probs you...

no headlights yet flash to pass works?

When my '87 did this, it was the head / fog light switch. Got overheated and melted the switch and the connector. Got tired of this 20 years ago, so yanked out the fog lights and installed a Texas Turbo Ram Air. :nice: Anyone remember them?
