    Mustang II popularity

My Take: The Bad: 1974 signified the end of what many people loved, Muscle bound Mustang's. The Mustang II was not even available with a V8 in 1974! The Mustang II does share many of the same parts and similar styling to a Pinto. Ralph Nadder (spelled wrong?) spear headed a conspiricy...

    fiberglass bumpers

Vette-bond in a adhesive available from auto body supply stores. See the photo with the red circles? The body shop sand blasted the bumper support and applied Vette-Bond to the two circled areas and the rest of the little tabs and glued the MAS bumpers on. They did the same to the front, but I...

    fiberglass bumpers

I used Vette-Bond to goo the MAS fiberglass bumpers to the original metal supports. This is the stuff they use to glue Corvette and other Tuperware car's togeather. It worked really well and it has been tested into the triple digit speeds. :D

Will a 74 front header panel work on my 77?

I put a 1974 header panel on my 1978 2+2 it was a bunch-o-work. The 1974 Mustang has a different rad support. new brackets need to be fabricated to mount it to a 1975-78 rad support. You will need a 1974 hood also, however the underhood bracing of a 1974 hood does not clear the 75-up rad...

    Mustang II Member's rides

I think "regress" would be more fitting word for my project lately, but here are some pics :D http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s309/IMACHU2/MustamgMagnums2.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s309/IMACHU2/MustangMagnums.jpg

    and the project begins...

The crudeness of a Mustang II is all a matter of perspective. When my 1991 Lincoln Mark 7 was my daily driver the transition to the II was a little harder. The Lincoln stopped better the steering felt quicker and it was very confy and quiet. The benifits of the II at the time were that it had...

    Why you chose a II?

My 1976 Cougar XR7 was struck and killed is a bizare driveway accident. I wanted a 1985 Mustang GT, but in 1991 they were huge money. A guy at work said he had a 1978 Mustang II 2+2 t-top for cheap. It was love at first sight! I bought it for $500.00. The 2+2 was a rusty p.o.s that never saw...

    Modified 2.3l or new design??

Rebel and I discovered this engine and we were bench racing and trying to figure out if it was an evolution of the classic 2.3l or a whole new design? does anybody here know? Rebel is building a 2.3l Turbo and we were wondering if you could swap the duel overhead camshaft cyl head onto a classic...

    door weatherstrips

I searched the world, and could not find any! Luckly for me I had Mustang II doors pillled up like cord wood in my garage. Out of 7 doors I found a fair pair. Amazing what a little soap and water will do. A little crazy clue also helped :D

    Browser Blues

The avatar is my II's real License Plate! (I stuffed it in my scanner). When I left my wife, she told me I would never finish the car. The summer after I rolled up at her place in the II (to picked up my son). The Plate was childish, but I can't help but smile from ear to ear when I see it :D...

    Winter Projects

RCI has some really nice aluminum cells with a nice perimeter 1 1/2" flange, perfect for sinking into a floor. (I put one in my friends 87 Supra Turbo Recently). It worked out really well. Another pic of the cell. I framed the hole in the floor with steel square tubing so the fuel cell staps...

    Winter Projects

Wow I have 10 million pictures of the II and not one good one of the fuel cell! I basically cut a fuel cell size hole in the trunk floor and welded a steel box in there. I kept as much of the original spare tire well as I could for strength. II's have really lumpy floors and this job was too...
