Second gear problem.... not a real problem!

I'm happy for you that you didn't have to go through what I went through with my T-5 !!!

    302 Offset

There has to be some angle in the driveline to make the little needle bearings in the u-joints spin. Ever taken one out and seen the grease marks from the needle bearings look like they wrap around the stub of the u-joint?? same principle. does this make sense to you? If not I'll try to...

Tranny sometimes pops out of 2nd....

Eos , what tranny do you have? Did you get a T-5,or the heavy duty T-5 I've had both in my II, and there are a lot of probables for the problem you are having. Try the simplest fixes first like clutch cable adjustment, and your shifter stops. Not long after I got my H.D. T-5 the same thing...

5 spd tranny problem.Very stubborn trying to engage into first gear.

Hey guy, your tranny is a T-5, it uses dexron III automatic fluid, all T-5 trannys do because it has needle bearings on the main shafts inside that 80-90w gear oil can't reach, it's too thick. Don't put anything but Dexron fluid in there or you'll ruin the transmission. If you don't believe it...

    Hedmans with Edelbrock 1406

it sounds like a major vacuum leak to me. check the back of the carburetor for a 1/4" npt plug, usually used for the brake booster. if that doesn't pan out check that you're getting fuel and not vapor lock. edelbrocks are prone to vapor lock. thats the only thing i can think of that would...

    Why you chose a II?

Got my first II when I was 14 somewhere in the mid 80's. A '77 yellow coupe, 4cyl 4 speed non- a/c with black std interior. It had been sitting for a long time. had 40 something thousand miles showing. inside was perfect, no rust, really good looking paint. got it for 700 bucks. Made a deal...

    1970Impala Part 2

intermittent wiper switch somebody mentioned on a previous post about several different intermittent wiper switch control boxes. I got mine from a granada in a salvage yard. got the switch, control box, and wiring for $5. it plugged right up and works flawlessly. maybe there is only one for a...

    goodbye friends

I haven't been with you all very long but I have to say goodbye. I am giving up my internet as of Thanksgiving day. I have enjoyed all of your help and ideas and hopefully have in some small way been able to help you as well. It's nice to know that there are other II enthusiasts out there...

    Oil Pressure??

there's also a galley plug behind the timing cover& gear. it may be out. Are you sure the cam bearings are seated properly? those bearings have a chamfered hole for the oil to lube the cam, if they aren't in properly they would definitely stop up your oil pressure. i'm not saying take it apart...

How do I figure out how many amps a alt. is

look at the casing really good, the amperage should be stamped into the metal. most of the ones i've seen the stamping is weak so get it good and clean. :) :)

My II is out to pasture until further notice.

fastmustangII, don't go the auto route if you don't want to. they have their place and it definitley isn't with you. If you're setup for a t-5 then stick with it but go for the heavy duty version, the 7003z, it's the strongest. i've been using one behind my 351 for 6 years now without any...

    Dissapointed in the new Stang

disappointed in 05 mustang Guys i'm kinda new to your forum. I usually just read the posts and tech articles. But this time i gotta speak up about this "disappointing" mustang. Face the facts man Ford did cut a few corners. but they did it with guys like us in mind. i mean inexpensive...

    I got a question

Got the answer for your rear brakes! Mid to late 70's Granada. Bolt on without any hassle whatsoever. And they're 10" x 2 1/2 " compared to mustang II 9" x 1 1/2". Much better braking. done it on mine and they work well with the granada fronts and master cylinder. I've often wondered about...
