    My engine nightmare

Ok. Before everyone gets confused, let me preface this by saying I have two identical 1986 Mustang GTs. The one I am currently fixing up is the junker that sat in the back 40 for 7 years. I am in the process of installing new shocks/struts and caster camber plates. Other than cosmetic issues...

Time to buff out the Rustang

That is a solar panel. Originally it was placed in the car to keep the battery charged. It turned pink after the sun faded the red plastic.

I don;t see where anyone said EGR spacer. The EGR spacer is on the EGR valve. The Throttle body spacer is on the throttle body.

It doesn't really matter WHICH throttle body spacer you buy; its not going to make the car go any faster.

Thats the thing that sucks about the feedback system. Ebay claims that they do not maintain that database. It is a database of the users. They could leave negative feedback because they found out you were American and hated America.

I was reading through the feedback on an ebay seller that had 500 posatives and 3 negatives. They sell mustang parts. I came across this negative feedback: poor quality does not add power jezon2000 ( 21 [Feedback score is 10 to 49] ) Jan-11-07 04:40 * Reply by...

Time to buff out the Rustang

Because my mom wrecked the car, she kept this one and bought me another car. It stayed in her covered parking with the top down because the top was broken. I have been fixing her up. As far as the floor plan is concerned, I got the carpet ripped up and there is no rust. I live in Bakersfield...

Time to buff out the Rustang

Ok, My Mustang has slowly turned into a Rustang over the last 14 months it has been parked in the back yard. I fired her up and she purred like she'd never been stopped. As for her coat.... well... she's seen better days. I bought this car in 1997 and a year later my mom wrecked her...

i need some help please anyone

The GT-40P heads have a slightly different plug location.. .but the only real way to tell while on the motor is to look at the casting numbers. The car came with E7TE heads. If it has GT-40P's it will be marked as such. The GT40P heads require a different header design than the GT-40s so...

just got my car back together, smoking like crazy?

I have code 24 as two different things depending on the year and model of the car. In all instances, code 24 on an EEC-IV equipped vehicle is either: AIT sensor out of voltage or ACT sensor out of voltage Both show as a self-test sensor failure. Nothing that would explain the symptoms you...

One of those annoying "How much power should I be making" threads......

I do not mean this as a joke and I am not belittling you. You could probably increase your quarter time more by going on a diet and losing 10 lbs. That being said, you can do some other weight saving measures like rip out some sound proofing, losing the spare tire, et cetera to gain a...

    85 gt rear end

Nope.... In 85 they upgraded the front and rear sway bars.... 1986 was the first year of the 8.8. Ask me how I know... :)

    5.0 Engine into 4.6 frame

Any time you build a car in any configuration that it did not come stock with, you are going to run into unseen problems. You will be nickel and dimed into oblivion. The first part of the journey would be to check with someone who KNOWS your state's emission laws... check multiple sources...

    Intake from a 90' to fit 86'???

It is not so much the heads as it is the pistons. E7TE heads will bolt up to an 86. They are the extreme however. Any head that requires more valve clearance than a stock E7TE head will have clearance issues.

    86 5.0 smog question

The main sensor in a speed density car is the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor located in the middle of the engine compartment mounted on the firewall just behind the driver's side of the upper intake.

    Gears and gas

Yeah... in this thing I can cruise at 70mph and be less than 2000 rpm. It REALLY helps for highway mileage. I get about 25 on the freeway driving 65.

    Gears and gas

I have my baby... 86GT Vert in completely stock condition. I also have another 86GT Vert that is modded, but the engine needs rebuilding. I have a Turbo Coupe rear disc rear end with 3.73s that I thought about throwing onto my stock baby but now I am not so sure. It currently has 2.73s...

    cheap/free 5.0 power upgrades....

It is also good for a few miles per gallon and with gas at $4.00 per gallon we will need to squeeze whatever we can out of these V-8s. People also need to realize that a mod that makes the engine more efficient will increase power, but it will also take less gas to make that power.

    Replacement Smog Pump?

Before you run off to the junk yard check the parts stores. I can't imagine a smog pump being more than $50.00.
