    Steering and Suspension

Before you spend any more money, make sure that your u bolts are torqued down to spec. I had the same symptoms you describe and found that while I had tightened down the u bolts they were not as tight as the spec, which is something like 60 ftlbs. Tightening them to spec solved the...

Is it possible to make 400hp out of 302 with just heads?

Go over to sbf dot com and look up that article, apparently that dyno reads notoriously high. That said, some Trick Flow heads and a custom cam should get you 400hp at the crank all day long. Good luck...

Poor Brake Pressure after front disc install

You are going through exactly the same issues I went through with my scarebird kit. I had decent pedal pressure with the 67 dual bowl drum/drum MC I had. In an effort to do better I installed the recommended 74 maverick MC and the pedal pressure got much, much worse. Then I did some...

Late Model Master Cylinder in 65

Just in case you decide to stay manual disk/drum, there are several modern AL MCs that will work, but with some tweaking. I currently run a S10 MC, but it is a quick fill design and won't work well with your calipers. A mid 90s Dodge passenger car MC will also work- but I forget which...

Which 8" posi unit should i get?

Take a look at the Tru Trac as another option...i love mine. No clutches to wear out, no chatter around turns - and great traction. The options are out there, but they are not advertised as well, call the individual manufactures and ask them what they got for the Ford 8. Good luck...

    65 Mustang Rearend Upgrade

What are you planing to do with the car and how much power are you making? If you aren't planing to drag race the car regularly the 8" should hold up fine. Road race and normal cruising really isn't that hard on a rear end compared to drag racing and the 8" should do fine for both.

    Edelbrock RPM II Intake

There was a hot rod article some years back when they built up a junkyard jewel 5.0 to like 400hp. Anyway, one of the early steps was that they replaced the stock intake with a RPM II while the motor still had stock heads. I don't recall exactly what the results were, but the gist was that...

EFI strut support...it fits, now !

Thanks, I will check them out. Just in case you start having any of the same issues I had...you may want to build a box around your air filter. Prop wash from the fan on the alternator gave me terrible idle surge until I enclosed the air filter. It also lowered my intake temperatures...

EFI strut support...it fits, now !

Mr woodster, Nice install, I had to do something very similar to make mine fit my GT40 intake. Off topic, but what CAI did you use? I have not been able to find one from a 5.0 that would fit between the towers and have been using the stock rubber elbow.

Fuel injection VS carb. 500hp engine.

Blown- I apologize if that came off as smart, in all seriousness, I did not mean it that way, my point was just that with a carb, you have no exact idea what its going to do in any given transient state. Yes, you can monitor what it does with a wideband, but that is very, very different than...

Fuel injection VS carb. 500hp engine.

Blown - Really? You can tell me with 100% confidence what your AFR is doing at 20% load, at a 10% throttle opening at say 3000 rpm? What if the temperature changes, or a high pressure weather front moves in? D- You don't need a dyno to see efficiency differences between efi and carb, you...

Fuel injection VS carb. 500hp engine.

At a given rpm and throttle state in steady state conditions, the efficiency can be the same, but during transitional states will be very different. Efi will be trying to hit stoich and a carb will be doing god knows what. And transitional conditions are where the majority of driving occurs.

Fuel injection VS carb. 500hp engine.

Regardless of how well you tune a carb, real world fuel efficiency will never match any modern efi system. I will grant you that at cruise you will be able to match efficiency with a very well tuned carb but at every other point, which is where most driving occurs, efi will win. In closed...

Fuel injection VS carb. 500hp engine.

I have efi on my car and can say that you need to be realistic about the intended use of the car before making the decision. Power and torque will be about the same at the end of the day. EFI will yield better fuel economy in real world day to day driving. But if all you do is take the...

    road racers 65/6 cars

Tim, Are your rear wheels 17x8 with 4.75 BS as well? I wouldn't have thought that woukld fit, seems like more BS would be needed out back to get the 275s in there.

best open track/road tyres for 65/66

Your first post indicated that you wanted the best wheel and tire combo for handling. Your second post seems to indicate that you really want a compromise between looks, handling, and ride quality. If you want all out handling, I stand by my first post. If you want a compromise, I would go...

best open track/road tyres for 65/66

Also, have you modified your front or rear suspension at all? If you have a stock type front suspension the most tire you'll get up front is a 225 maybe 235 if you are lucky. So knowing that, I'd then want as small an aspect ratio as I could get...45 would be great - which means you need a...

What years Grand Marcus has those rims? Yeloxr7 - any clue how much your wheels and tires weigh?

    EFI Ignition wiring

One of the studs on the solenoid will be hot in run and start. I wired a relay to that which then powers the ECU. Works perfect. Good luck...

    Stock Mustang Dyno'd - Lean?

Was the O2 sensor a tailpipe sniffer or was it screwed into a bung in your H pipe? (Assuming you have a bung welded into your H pipe.) If it was a tailpipe sniffer and you have an exhaust leak anywhere, you'll read lean. As the exhaust pulses pass the leak, the low pressure portion of the...
