    sct chip

Check your base timing. If it isn't at 10 degrees; put it there. Still knocking? Then try 9. Still got knock? Then try 8. Still got knock? At some point this should cure your knock, but it may cause your idle to suffer, and part throttle cruise may have lower fuel economy...

    Doughnut spare in/on 66 Convertible??

I got one to cut down on unneeded weight. Went to the junkyard with a tape measure and started looking a spares until I found one with the rigth spacing on the lugs and a backspacing that would work. I found one in a pile in the back of a truck, so I don't know what it came off of, but...

Would it run Without EGR spacer

I removed mine and replaced it with a 1/8 inch piece of plate steel cut to match the TB diameter and with a mounting flange for the throttle cable. Easy. Took all of an hour to complete. I don't have cruise, so not sure how that might affect things. Good luck...

What would it take to run 12.8xx?

I have the p heads and will be buying some MAC true flow headers soon to replace the heavily massaged tri-ys on the car right now. Supposedly they will fit with 90 degree boots and a little love from a BFH. Ill post the results when complete. You may want to consider some Caltracs...

    new with custom suspension

5280/4, Just to echo 10secondgoal, you really, really, really need to lawyer up, set up a LLC to protect yourself, and get as much liability insurance as you can if you are going to sell your plans - or have people "donate" money to you for them. If you are not a PE and don't have...

just added GT40s to my 87 pony and I cant get the timing straight

Just a sanity check here...b/c your symptoms sound just like what happens in you have the dizzy one tooth off, or if you have a couple of plug wires crossed. Did you check to make sure you've got all the plug wires going to the right plugs? Are you 100% sure that you don't have the dizzy...

Finished the scarebird conversion, a few notes.

Just to update this thread...with my results of my Scarebird conversion and the ensuing hunt for a MC that gave decent pedal travel, and pedal pressure required to stop the car. After putting the 74 Maverick MC on my car and being grandly dissappointed...way, way too much pedal travel...I...

Aluminum Master Cylinder - Manual Disks?

Just to update this thread... After putting the 74 Maverick MC on my car and being grandly dissappointed...way, way too much pedal travel...I went back and did some research on the calipers used in the Scarebird kit. They are from an s10 truck, and are what is known is a "quick fill", or...

    frustrated with edelbrock/AFR 165 setup

Did you pull the codes? Always a good first step. Also remember that your computer needs time to learn. Its adaptive learning logic learns faster during the first several start ups, but time is needed. Also note that it will not learn unless the coolant gets over 170 and the air intake...

    EFI harness options

Having done the swap and having re-wired a 1993 harness for a 1966 chassis, a few things: 1) Really consider why you want EFI. Performance? Driveability? Economy? Starting? Just for the hell of it? Performance - You'll get as much or more from a carb setup. Driveability - Forget what...

    best newer seats?

Jon's got good advice and his late model seats look like they were made for his '67. I put in Fiero seats and like the way they look and the way they fit. Had to fab up an adapter bracket to bolt them in, but it wasn't too hard. Google Mr. Mike and you'll get an idea of what the Fiero...

question about 86 f150 5.0 and cam options

Mike, Bump the timing to about 12 degrees and follow the "setting base idle" checklist. This resolved the hunting idle issuses that I first had with the mustang cam and f150 computer. Good luck...

question about 86 f150 5.0 and cam options

Tanner, What I am suggesting is that he put on some long tubes and gears and get the most gain for the least cash and struggle. What others are suggesting is that he swap blocks just so he can swap cams. This is crazy. There are several cam manufacturers that have off the shelf flat...

question about 86 f150 5.0 and cam options

Tanner you are way off, the OP can build a 400hp screamer if he wants with the block he has. The block is either roller or not and all that affects is cam selection. HO or not does not matter to the block or the build. OP, all 302 builds are basically the same. The heads are...

question about 86 f150 5.0 and cam options

Wrong. My 1993 Ford truck is neither MAF nor H.O. - nor are any other 1993 models IIRC - except maybe California models. 1994, yes; 1993 no. My truck has a good ole speed density and it had the non-HO firing order when stock. I did get lucky and get a roller block (not all 1993's had...
