AOD swap where do you start.

Oh and don't forget the sheet metal pieces that go between the engine and tranny.

AOD swap where do you start.

You have to have a different flexplate(I believe), an AOD torque convertor, an AOD transmission, Conversion Crossmember, Kick down cable(might be called something else), a linkage conversion and maybe more. I don't know if you would need a different starter or not? If that's wrong info, I'm...

    EFI or no?

I think the spyder intake from pro-idustries/coast high performance (I think) would be a cool intake to try. One thing to worry about with a 351 based motor is hood clearance with the efi intakes and this intake seems a little bit "shorter". I couldn't get my track heat to fit with the 1"...

    The SN65 project car

Does anyone know where you can get an "air deflector" like the one that is on the airfilter of that cobra? Basically just the plastic piece that goes around it?

    New Console Piece...Opinions wanted!!!

I didn't even think of making it out of wood. I did think about the spring back, but I'm not sure how to calculate it yet. Actually the die is just a concept it's not even to scale yet. That is a good idea to make it out of wood! The stainless I use isn't actually brushed. I sand it in one...

    "New" gages with "old" style?

Some one on here did this...I think it was "shelly" or something like that. It worked pretty good.

    New Console Piece...Opinions wanted!!!

I drew up this die. I've never really drawn a die before so I don't know if it would work. What do you "die"-guys think?? The stainless peice is shown, drawn at an angle...it would be bolted down to the left side (angled side) of the die. Let me know if this all makes any sense?

    New Console Piece...Opinions wanted!!!

Hey Guys! Thanks for the responses! bnickel- I haven't looked at doing anything for the 69-70's yet. I originally did mine just for a gauge pod, then I decided to add the cut outs. My last name is Thrush, that's why those cut outs are on there. 1320stang- I think I know what you...

    8.8 in a '66 - is it possible w/out being expensive?

I think the 9" is a lot more costly to build. You can get an explorer rearend with 31 spline axles, disc brakes, and limited slip. The differential is actually offset so on axle is longer than the other. If you buy another "short" axle and have the long side shortened to the same length as...

    New Console Piece...Opinions wanted!!!

Thanks for checking out my thread. I'm working on some custom stainless steel pieces for my cougar. I just want your opinions. I made a stainless steel automatic console shifter plate out of stainless steel. I have actually sold a couple of them on ebay. My question is about my newest...

    The SN65 project car

The funny part is, is it's easier for me to read backwards than it is to look at a car with the steering wheel on the right (and I mean opposite of left...not correct) side. lol.

    The SN65 project car

I'm sure I'm not the first smart @$$ to do this, but it's a little easier to look at this way. :D

    Versailles Swap question

Are you going to the Columbus, Oh swap meet this weekend? Probably not, but that would be cool. Is it complete...I'm thinking about it.

    Versailles Swap question

I thought that it could only be done if you had the smaller bearing rearend and I thought that versailles had the larger bearing? Might want to check on that though. Or you could just send the Explorer rearend to me and I will put it in my car. :nice:

blower? EFI? 5.0 build up bananzaa

I think the block would be ok...It's probably brand new for one thing. The thing I would be most worried about is those pistons.

Explorer rear discs and Master Cylinder?

The explorer master cylinder is probably for an abs equipped vehicle. I'm not sure how much that matters, but from what I have read, the master cylinder to get is late 80's early 90's lincoln mark VII master cylinder with all wheel disc and no abs.

    Explorer Rearend

I think you would have to mount spring pearches and I also think it would be WAAAAAAAY to wide for a 65.

    Explorer Rearend

I'm still looking for a rearend. I've found several for pretty good prices, but none close enouph to me. I don't want to have to pay shipping.
