    I would be temped to look elsewhere -- like cables or weak battery first. These cars do not have nearly as much heat soak as a Chevy -- it's almost never an issue.

    Yes it's BS. These are all over eBay -- just resistors to plug into your coolant temp sensor and make the computer think it's running cooler than it is.

    The shift kit and the vb will definitely feel different. I have a shift kit in my F150 (AOD) and the Lentech in my Mustang (AOD) and they are not even close.

    The skill involved isn't terrible -- hardest part is probably drilling/tapping the hole for the wire(s) to run through the case of the tranny. The rest is simply taking out bolts and keeping track of which ones go where (different lengths, that's all). Lentech makes several different VBs...

    Unplug/remove the amp and short jumper harness. Use the wires that plugged into the amp to plug into your new HU -- the connectors are the same. The amp should be located directly behind the HU in an 87. :nice:

    15x8s on Cobra Rear Brakes

    I had 15x10's on newer Cobra brakes. I did find that it was VERY close. Weld wheels needed a little grinding on the caliper, while Centerline wheels fit without anything.

    paint problems

    I'm no paint expert, but I believe when it comes to paint -- cleanliness is next to godliness. Especially on non-metal i would think contamination or non-compatible products would show. You might need to have the bumpers taken down to good known primer or even bare plastic and redone. :shrug:

    solid motor monts

    Solid mounts don't transmit as much vibration as people generally think they do. I don't mind them -- or hardly notice them really. I'm sure the more power and rougher the idle the more you will, but I still think it could be dealt with.
