Anyone NOT using an X or H pipe, just straight duals?

It's your car...do what you like-a good exhaust shop shouldn't charge much to mate your headers to the cat back or whatever setup you have. The sound will be different-probably more pop since there's no evening of pulses between the firing cylinders. And certain RPMs will create odd noise...

    b303 cam barely chops?

What he said...it'll chop a little, but if you're accustomed to hearing cars with 235*+ duration at 0.050" then a b-cam with only 220* will sound pretty mild. Follow along with jrichker's surging idle thread-step by step, don't ignore steps unless you've already completed them in the sequence...

    Anybody have 87 wiring diagram?

Should be pinned out of the injector harness if memory serves...but it's been a while since I messed around with one.

    4V4I

I don't blame you for that-MPS has a set on eBay I've been eyeballing all night-they're split up intakes and exhausts. I also looked at the SHM grind numbers when I went looking for turbo friendly bumpsticks last night-the duration numbers were kinda different from what I'd expect for turbo...

    4V4I

...couple new pictures. Funny thing I noticed. I bought these believing they were '99-'01 Cobra heads, and I'm usually not too suspicious of this sort of thing, but I found a part number on the right side intake cam and wanted to bump it with a chart I have...turns out, they're Continental...

    96 3.8 to 5.0 swap Help NEEDED

Find a friend with a engine hoist, and go from there. I can't speak to how much it would cost since I've never paid anyone to swap an engine out...but I bet you'd save at least a grand doing it yourself-just in labor. Also, as mentioned you'd have to get a new k-member to fit the 5.0 into the...

    4V4I

Hmmm, didn't think about running AN fittings there, but I did buy some fittings for the back water ports so I could do the crossover mod. I've been told that helps equalize coolant temps in the heads.

    4V4I

...don't suppose you have the coolant transfer tubes so I can run a heater do ya? Oh-while I'm thinkin' about cooling stuff-what water pump would you recommend? I know there's a couple different varieties, and this where I'm pretty ignorant of what is available and what would play well with what...

    Auto parts stores no more.

That's funny you mention that...I thought Pep Boys was supposed to carry "everything but fuel"...wasn't that what they use to say? I had plenty of experiences with the one here in Abilene that usually left me frustrated, but if you wanted to detail your car, they had every product under the sun...

Ever see a car you've sold and wanna cry?

How is it too far gone to save? Is it rotted from the bottom up and inside out? It looks pretty straight, just needs a powertrain based on the stance. I've seen far worse cars brought back...might want a different color though

    5.0 Swap 92 Notch 2.3

I'm pretty sure if you go to fordfuelinjection.com there is a chart that covers that...that's why I put it up above... Check out the stickys too...pretty sure most of the stuff you'd need for wiring info are there. Also, if you don't have a haynes manual, now would be a great time for one...

    4V4I

I should be able to source most of it locally, but it's still frustrating to have to stop progress on the engine because of a lack of fasteners. Rest assured, if I need some pieces parts I can't find, you'll be the first person I contact.

55lb-ft on the rods with ARP lube, 0.021" top ring, 0.025" second ring...everything rotates nice and smooth. I just need to police up some miscellaneous fasteners and guide pins. I bought all the big parts piecemeal as opposed to buying a complete engine, so I gotta find all the hardware...grrr

I guess I decided to burn some midnite oil...I gotta get adjusted to a nightshift schedule anyway...might as well get somethin' productive done!

    5.0 Swap 92 Notch 2.3

Looks good to me. If you haven't already been to www.fordfuelinjection.com for wiring assists, or looked up some of jrichker's posts, now would be the time to look. You can find pretty much everything wiring related within those two sources.

    Flywheel Bolts Questions

IIRC, the thin heads are there so they don't have any interference with the clutch disc. I can't really tell how thick the heads are on those bolts you bought, but I know the ARPs I bought several years ago for my car weren't much thicker-if any-than the ones you bought from NAPA. That being...

    4V4I

This is from earlier today. After talking to Rick, I pulled them back apart and relubed the pins since the engine will likely sit for a few months before actually being fired up. So far, I have two sets of rings filed and installed on the pistons. Depending how awake I am, I might burn some...

    Adjustable FPR Unnecessary???

It'll help you to get things running up and smoothly-idle mixture sometimes plagues people running aftermarket meters and bigger injectors...then when you tune it, you set it back to factory pressure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Roadside emmisions testing

Man, this got good. I know exactly what Mike is talking about with the gross polluters-there are plenty of them here where I live. But most of them aren't hot rodders...they're busted a$$ old pontiacs and buicks billowing out clouds of oil smoke. Yes, most of the time it's a reality that...
