this is not a 5.o but.......

A 460 can take a .060" overbore without any concerns. I woudl suggest you visit a forum I foudn once dedicated to the 429/460. A lot of knowledgeable guys and they are all very helpful. I don't remember the link, but I think it was 385 Heaven of something like that. I'll try to find it and...

Correct me or make fun of this person

There's 2 factory versions of the power glide that I am aware of. One for I6's and one for bigger V8's. The I6's version had (I think) a 1.8:1 first gear and 1:1 second, while the V8 version had a 1.71 first.

tjm73 u out there?? My rims are in..Now what tires should I get?

SWEEEETT!!! You must post pics when they're on the car. Now, on to your questions....... 235/45R17's will fit the wheels, but they will look too streched across the tread surface IMO. 245/45R17 would be better. I think the 275/40R17 will look real good on the 9.5" wheel. If your car...

And what about the '96-'98 non-PI ports? Small print says only with the PI heads.

Block identification-what year is my 302?

Can't take as much torque and have smaller input shaft diameter. Exterior dimensions are the same. Some guys race with them. I know a guy that has made over 200 NOS runs with one behind a pretty strong 302. Other guys break them right away. So  how long it'll last.

Block identification-what year is my 302?

For some reason I thought we were talking automatic tranny... For T5 identification: http://www.allfordmustangs.com/Detailed/349.shtml 1352 is Borg Warner T5, but no 184 is listed. 194 is a 2.3 tranny and that tranny would be in a XR4Ti. Double check that number?

I can't find a reliable resource for those tranny numbers. What can you tell us abotuthe engine it was attached too? Was it carb'd or TBI fuel injected or SEFI?

Refer to post #6. Also this member http://forums.stangnet.com/member.php?u=14928 can tell you more about the engine you have. He knows much stuff.

In '87, I think they changed the upper intake a little. Could be wrong.

Block identification-what year is my 302?

That's definitly an '86 engine. Another reason I don't trust that Sierra info is the 2.0 and the 2.3 have a totally different bellhousing bolt pattern. The trannies can not physically interchange between L4 and Windsor V8.

Block identification-what year is my 302?

That doesn't change that the Sierra was never sold in North America. So I still don't trust that data. As far as beign a truck block. Yes and no. E7TE is just an engineering number. E = 80's era (F = 90's), 7 mean it's 87, TE means truck. But that does not mean that engine came out of...

Need help on my 87 5.0GT!

The difference in power with a B or E cam will not be much, but there is no reason to NOT change it if you are looking for "the sound". I, in fact, have a B303 in my stock headed 5.0. Sounds awesome, runs as good or better than stock. In hind sight, had I known then, what I know now, I...

which vertical link bar lifters do i need?

I'm pretty sure a standard base circle roller cam will not work in a '69 block. The lifters will not have adequit (sp?) support from the old style flat tappet lifter bores and you will lose oil pressure. You will need to run a small base circle version of that cam or run special lifters...

Block identification-what year is my 302?

Doyou mean Merkur XR4Ti? The 2.0 Sierra was never sold in the USA. The Merkur XR4Ti was basically the same car but it had the 2.3 turbo from the T-Bird/SVO and if it was one of those with an automatic it would have been a A4LD (I think that's the name). I would put much stock in the results...

Convertible creaks and rattles, any way to fix it?

Welcome to the realities of convertibles. :( I too have squeaks and creeks to chase down. I just realized the other day that my car is now 16 years old.

Need help on my 87 5.0GT!

Yes you can use the alt you have now. No, you can't put those parts into a 302 block. It should not as long as you maintain a vaccum signal from the engine to the brake booster. I wouldn't bother changing the cam yet. You need a lot more than ported factory heads to justify a cam...

    Friend destroyed rear end why?

Solve it forever with a 9" conversion from Moser Engineering. If my 8.8" ever breaks, that's what I'm doing.

Block identification-what year is my 302?

As long as it's a roller cam block there is no signifcant differance as far as I know of or have heard of.
