    The number one rationale for the V6 Mustang is that it provides the sales volume to keep the Mustang on the market. No V6? Probably no Mustang.

    Ford will have a 3.5 liter 24 valve V6 in 2006 but I doubt it will be in the Mustang - at least initially. It is slated to be introduced in the Ford 500, Montego, Freestyle.

    This sounds a lot like a similar situation with upper strut bearings on the 2nd gen. Taurus SHO in 1992. It took awhile for Ford to come up with a fix but they did get it figured out.
