    gas milage?

If you have the wrong speedo gear, you speedometer will be off by a percentage, not by a specific number of MPH. Thus, the higher the speed, the more miles per hour it will be off. If your speedo is consistently off by a specifice MPH throughout its range, you have another problem that a new...

    gas milage?

That's only a 0.08" difference between those tires. The change it would make in the speedometer reading is less than 0.5%. No speedometer gear is going to correct for that small a change. Most people are happy to have a speedometer that is within 5% accuracy. Are you sure you have the...

    gas milage?

+1 You have to first determine if your speedometer/odometer is accurate. If you have non-stock sized tires, or non-stock gears, there is a good chance your speedo/odometer is off. Drive the interstate, and hit your trip odometer reset button just as you pass a mile marker. Drive for at...

    fox body speedo

SSP Mustangs got 140 mph, "Certified Calibration" speedos, from 1982 until 1989 1/2. When the regular production Mustangs got 140 mph speedometers, the SSPs got 160 mph gauges.

    rpm calculator

    Here's the formula. You can do it yourself. Engine RPM = 336.1352 / Tire Height X Axle Ratio X Transmission Gear Ratio X MPH EXAMPLE: 336.1352 / 25.63 X 3.73 X 0.68 X 70 = 2329 RPM Tire Height = Tread Width X Aspect Ratio / 1270 + Wheel Diameter EXAMPLE: (P225/60R15) 225 X 60 / 1270...

Fox Mustang Books. Where can you purchase theses?

+1 to both of those books. :nice: Expect to pay some $$ for the Ford Mustang Service Manual, but it's well worth it.

    4.10 gear question...

I'd say you're pretty close to topping out 3rd. 110 mph is about all you'll get with 4.10s and those tires. With the 225/60/15s, it's about 107 mph.

do you think i will be dissapointed if i swap from 3.90s to 3.55s?

1900+ posts, and you still don't know you need to tell us what size tires you're running to get an accurate answer to that question?:nonono: If it is a black drive gear, then it's a 6-tooth. If it's green, it's an 8-tooth gear. 6-tooth drive gear: If your tires are between 25" and 26"...

    3:89 or 3:73

With 26" tires, about 2150 rpm @ 60 mph. If you step it up to 70 mph, it'll be a little over 2500 rpm. At 80 you'll be at 2875 rpm.

    3:89 or 3:73

+1 With a 5-speed I would say 3.55s, especially if you're gonna do some HP mods. 3.73s might give you traction issues, and makes 1st gear pretty useless for daily driving. Just my $0.02.

I had to disquallify myself from answering because... well, check my signature. :D A bit of folklore behind that story: The official story was that Oregon State Police ordered 34 SSPs then declined to take delivery of them. The dealership sold half of them to Saleen, and the rest were...

    any aod tranny experts?

It really doesn't sound like your technician know what he's doing. Adjusting the TV cable by experimentation is a good way to ruin the tranny. The TV adjustment should be checked with a pressure guage connected to the main line pressure tap on the driver's side of the transmission case.

1982. Production ended with the 1993 model year. The USAF used SSP Mustangs from the model years, 1986, 1988, 1990 and 1991. "Mobile 1" was a 1988 SSP, painted USAF "Strato Blue" (the wheels were painted that color too), and the interior was blue vinyl. QUESTION: Which law enforcement...

    I have been robbed!!!!

 TV crime dramas have just about ruined real police work. Everybody expects the kind of miraculous results they see on "C.S.I. Miami". The best thing to help find your stuff, and perhaps the dirtbag(s) who took it, is to give the police a detailed list of what was taken. The police...
