    Leather Seat compatibility

Front seats from a 79-04 are interchangeable, but the back seats on verts pose a more difficult swap. I don't know if anyone has swapped over a newer vert rear seat into a fox. I've been meaning to get the measurements and figure out if the conversion can reasonably be done. Here is a thread...

The official "How many miles does your Fox have?" thread...

306,813 miles, and it now sits in the garage with a blown motor :( Somehow the crank broke at the front of the motor. It is 100% stock motor, with only water pumps and reusable valve cover gaskets replaced on the block. I'm planning to replace it with a new(er) stock motor for now, or grab an...

    91-93 Fender on 89 Mustang

If you reuse your fender extensions on the newer fenders, they will fit, but you will not have any more wheel clearance. The newer extensions are cut back to fit the newer fenders and that is what gives the extra room for larger tires.

    My 89 LX Build Thread!

You are doing a great job on that rear end, but I'm with Mustang5l5 on it. Did you see it on your buddy's car with 17x8 wheels? If it is a 99-04 model, you may not be happy with the way it will look with those split 5 spoke wheels. The 99-04 rear ends move the wheels out over 1.25" further...

What did you do for your Fox today?

Yesterday was not a good day for my LX. Blew the motor on my way home. I was just accelerating from leaving a store on the feeder road, shifted to second at about 40 and BOOOM!!! Broke the crank somewhere around the front cylinders, I can wiggle the balancer side to side about 3/4". Oh well...

    Black Interior ?

I just left the holes, they never bothered me. A friend found some 2" surface mounted tweeters and mounted them over the holes to cover them up.

    Jumping in Brakes First....

Not for 94 to 04 wheels, they fit with the stock arms. As for 05-11 wheels, they will sit in a bit due to the different offset/backspacing. However the 18 & 19" wheels may hit the struts too.

92 GT, Loud screeching noise from engine then engine dies

In the back of the heads for the crossover tube? That should work. If you are removing the tube, I would not pitch it as people are sometimes looking for it.

92 GT, Loud screeching noise from engine then engine dies

You don't need the pulley if you go with the shorter belt. Just pull off the pump and whatever else you don't need that is attached to it. I still have to run mine for emissions testing. The only issue could be possible converter damage if your car is running rich as there would not be any...

92 GT, Loud screeching noise from engine then engine dies

Sure, that will work. Is everything else stock on the front of the motor? use this chart to route the belt and get the right size. Note that you route it differently around the water pump and crank with a shorter belt to bypass the air pump. Dang the air pumps have gone up a bit in price...

92 GT, Loud screeching noise from engine then engine dies

Does it have the air pump? Mine did that twice and it was the air pump that seized up. Killed the motor both times unless I kept reving it, then the belt started to smoke. Hopefully that is it, and not something internal.

    interchanging door question.....

There are basically 3 different doors, 1) hatch and coupe, 2) vert, and 3) t-top, and two year ranges, pre 87 and 87-93, so a 85 LX door will fit a 85 GT no problem.

    Adding power windows and locks

Locks are easier to add, you can keep the same door panels and armrests, but the manual window lock switches that replace the black plugs are a bit harder to find. I actually converted my car to only power locks like 20 years ago, but ended up going full power when I got the black interior...

    about to buy this stang

Aren't trick flow heads aluminum? All the ones I've seen have not looked like stock heads to me, but then I've only seen a few of them.

What did you do for your Fox today?

I actually worked on it today, first time in over a year. Changed the water pump and started installing a pusher fan to help the AC cool down with the r134a refrigerant. It just does not get enough airflow in traffic or low speeds to cool down properly, so I'm hoping the small fan will help...

    Adding power windows and locks

Most likely not if your car did not come with them. Do you have the rubber boots in the door openings? Do you have power mirrors or factory premium sound system? If so, you may have it, but no guarantees. I installed power locks & windows on mine and I had to pull the wiring from door to door...

    When a Fox 5.0 isn't a Stang!

Nice looking! A 79 Futura was my first Ford. I bought it for my wife before we got married, back in 83 for $850. I planned to swap in a 302 for the 4 banger, bought just about everything, but ended up just trading it in on my 87 Mustang instead. Wish I could find another one. I don't know...

disc brake rear end 92 ?

I'm assuming you are staying 4 lug? The 93 Cobra and 87-88 TC have the same rear end brake parts and are the same width. You can modify the TC brackets (mount them inside the axle flange, there is a thread on this on Corral) and use the Fox axles or get the North Racecars Replica and Mustang...

    HELP inertia or fuel pump..

Do you remember if you heard the pump priming? The relay could be going bad, that has happened to me before. I also had a fuel pump go out on me with similar symptoms, it would start fine cold, but after driving a while, it would not restart until it sat for a few minutes to cool off I guess.
