    Opinion... Restoration Project

IMO, unless the car is a VERY low mileage original car that just needs a few things fixed, it will never be worth the difference having original Ford "stock" parts on it versus aftermarket parts. It's not like it is a 65 fastback GT (like my father sold back in 76 for $250!) that people want...

    speedometer calibration

Another thing I just thought about, could they have replaced the gauge faces? The 140 speedo came out mid year in 89, maybe they put a 140 face on a 85 speedometer? That would make it read fast for sure.

    speedometer calibration

Lot of info here, but if you do have 2.73 gears in a 89 manual car, stock it has a maroon 16 tooth gear on the cable. The drive gear inside the trans is a yellow 7 tooth gear. That is what my car had stock. All three have to match to get the correct reading. In order for the speedo to read fast...

    speedometer calibration

Sounds like it has gears, and does not have the correct speedometer gear. Do as No 11 said, 3-1/2 driveshaft turns would be 3.55 gears, 3-3/4 turns 3.73. Then you can pull the speedometer cable and see what gear it has, note the color and number of teeth.

What did you do for your Fox today?

I washed and lightly compounded my car this weekend, it has been like 4 or 5 months since the last time it was cleaned. I haven't been driving it much these past two years, since I've been driving my son's car while he is away at college, but he's back home again. Now to do a tune up and...

Can the clutch pedal easily be unbolted from quadrant while in car?

You know Mike, I think you may be onto something! I never thought about swapping the pedals. I would think even if Ford changed the pedals a bit, they would have left the top mounting part the same, the clutch rod and lever, for all fox based cars. Do you have a SN95 pedal assembly? I could...

    Interior dash?

Yes, Mike did the rears just like I did. Here is a complete thread with pics of my install included: 2002 seats in a 1991 GT How to get them in?! - Ford Mustang Forums : Corral.net Mustang Forum

    My 89 LX Build Thread!

Great job! I'm impressed with what you've done so far. When I was your age I was into fixing up bikes & model cars, never even had an idea about real ones, let alone restoring one. I like the 97 wheels also, I wanted them, but settled on a set of 96 painted ones when I did my 5 lug...

Bullitt pedals for $35? Why not?

I got mine from them several years ago, and could probably use another set since one of the pedals has the rubber nubs wearing off. Glad to see that they are still selling them. Of course I paid a bit more back then, but it was like $50 or so, still cheaper than Ford. I did cut the...

    Rear Seat Belts

I did mine an easier way using the stock 90 rear belts. I drilled holes and installed the belt brackets to the wheel well using thick washers and seat belt bolts. I was not about to attempt welding or anything, plus I did it in my 87 before I swapped to a 90 black interior. I wanted the 3...

    Interior dash?

Your AC controls and trim piece will work just fine, but you will have to drill a few new holes in it to mount into the 90-93 dash. I did not use the metal part of the knee pad when I installed mine, and also cut out a place for the fuse box in the "stock" location.

seatbelt buckle not fastening, fix or WTB

I had to replace mine on the driver's side. Ended up getting a red one and pulled the old belt out of my black sleeve and swapped the sleeve to the new red belt. You can't even tell it is a different color. I'll look and see if I still have the red passenger side one.

what year are these seats from?

Here is some more info on installing the 99-04 seats, front & rear in a Fox from my install: 2002 seats in a 1991 GT How to get them in?! - Corral.net : Ford Mustang Forums The rear seat bottoms and backs did require a bit of work, but nothing major like paying someone hundreds of $$$ to...

Bullitt wheels on my 1988 LX

You will need spacers to use them and look decent. They have more like a FWD offset and backspacing. I've seen them on some 94-04 cars, and they look like they are all sucked in. The only Fox they look decent on is the SVO and Saleens which came with a 2-1/2" wider track than the rest of the...

Bullitt wheels on my 1988 LX

Just saw your thread Nick, hopefully my PM was good info, but you have my # if you have any more questions. And take a look on Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market for those spindles. I've bought probably 10 sets on there and resold them on ebay for a profit. Many of the places will ship too...

    5 lug conversion Step-by-Step

Three letters. ABS :D I have everything to put a 96 ABS system on my car except for the front hubs with the ABS rings. That is one reason I plan to change to the 94-98 axles. One of these days!

    5 lug conversion Step-by-Step

That one can be removed by unbolting it from the combination valve below the master cylinder, and it can be snaked out of the wheel well pretty easily. Mine was messed up like that too, before I went and got the special brake line wrenches that go around the nut. I ended up just replacing it...

    stupid dimmer switch

I think you will need a new one. Mine goes out like that, but I'm able to move it until the lights come back on. One note if you drive it at night before you replace it. On my car, if the dash lights go out, all of the exterior lights go out too, except for the headlights! A local police...
