F or B cam for my explorer motor

You just showed how much research you've done...ZERO! Ford heads need help on the exhaust side which is why most good cams are split lift\split duration favoring the exhaust, or why some guys put 1.7s on the exhaust valves with 1.6s on the intake valves.

    lift/emissions

The Crane website has some other e-legal cams, even under the Voodoo line. You might want to check that out. Tim

    Ols school plenum mod?

As stated above it is still done today, but it was mainly an old school mod from before there was a lot of aftermarket support for the 5.0 and a lot of good intake manifolds. Tim

Stock Radiator's Shot- Need Help What To Buy?

:Word: Fluidyne rocks! It was also a 15 minute installation not counting burping the coolent system. Tim

    lift/emissions

:Word: Stock HO cam with 1.7s is still e-legal unlike the B cam with 1.6s! :D

F or B cam for my explorer motor

crapola You asked about being better for P heads, then you stipulate that the TFS cam that was offered (the cheaper, better HP, better gas mileage, better behaved cam with an equally agressive sound that met all your requirements except being an FMS cam) wasn't designed for P heads. As stated...

    fox body lower intake

The threaded hole behind the #5 runner for the Fox ACT is 3\8". I used a 3\8" threaded pipe plug on my '93 cobra intake and have no leaks or problems. The coolent holes were already plugged on mine so I don't know the size, probably 3\8" or 5\16" from the look. Tim

    Need help with Header selection

I've run MAC equal length shorties and BBK long tubes. I didn't have trouble with MAC, but prefer the single flange of the BBKs. IMO LTs are the best, but if you're stuck on shorties do not get the equal lengths, the unequal lengths are not a PITA like the equal lengths and the limited...

    Freeze Plug the PCV hole!!!!

:nice: No problem Jason, i just figured people were getting tired of my anti-breather soapbox! This is really EFI specific, but many of the same principles also apply to carb cars with the closed crankcase, specifically what you mentioned about positively ventilating the harmful crankcase...

    PCV Help

I found it easiest to use a metal pick to reach down into the PCV hole and pull the filter out if the lower intake is on the car. If not needle nose pliers will also work well. Here's what the screen looks like. Tim

    Intake Manifold ?

Some guys have modified an SN95 adapter elbow to work with the intake by redrilling holes, but then they had to get creative with the throttle cable and just like with the Fox TB conversion they had to modify their CAI\air inlet in order to accomodate the new position of the throttle body...

    Freeze Plug the PCV hole!!!!

crapola I'm afraid that the physics are against your position. You've created a passive crankcase ventilation system which doesn't really ventilate the crankcase at all, it just equalizes the crankcase pressure with the pressure in the outside\engine bay. The PCV or POSITIVE crankcase...

    VA stangers, emissions questions

I may be moving to Norfolk soon and want to know if they have emissions testing, and if so is it only a visual, a visual and sniffer, dyno etc. Are they sticklers about long tube headers? I know I'll have to get cats, but want to make sure the headers will be good to go before shelling out the...

    10 extra horsepower anyone?

If you're concerned about the oil splashing and robbing HP, put a windage tray in and put the recommended amount of oil in the crankcase.

    Rust on Jet-Hot headers

My MAC equal length shorties rusted like Nick said above, and my BBK LTs are doing the same thing. Personally it annoys me but not too much since I bought the headers for performance instead of looks. I also realize that constant heating and cooling of metal, especially if in a more humid...
