Steeroids and headers - Hedman 88300 doesn't work - shorties?

I posted this over on VMF as well. To install or remove the headers I have to drop the rack down. Disconnect the steering joint from the rack and then take the 4 bolts off where the rack bolts to the cradle. You shouldn't have to unhook the hoses. If you still need more clearance take the...

    Versailles Rear and Shock Clearance

There is a tech article on Mustangplus.com about the Versailles conversion. In the artile they state that if you loosen the nut on the bolt for the brake line and rotate it you will not have this problem. Mustangs Plus - Tech Articles - Lincoln Versailles Rear Disc Conversion Tips

    Rear End Lift

Is there a place locally that can rearch your springs to give you the lift you need. If not buy the springs that will do what you want. I usually find out if I don't do it the right way the first time around I will regret it later. Good luck and post some pics when you get the new tires on...

    can anyone identify these heads?

I agree as well. The flange for the lower bolts is scalloped with TW heads. I don't know if others have the same but I do know that 170cc heads look like that.

May issue of Modified Mustangs & fords

I don't want to steal the thread so I added a garage for my car. You can access it under my post count. The fans kick on at 180 (2 of them) and the other two at 195. I drive the car when ever I can as long as I can put the top down. I just put the new engine in and am working out the bugs...

May issue of Modified Mustangs & fords

Is that radiator going to be enough to cool that engine? Here is one I just had made by wizardcooling.com. Beautiful and could cool your beast very well.

    Rear end gears?

I wouldn't plan on the speed or RPM's of the chart you found. The tire on that is much taller than you will ever use on your mustang. I'll repeat myself from an earlier post. I find that the 3.70 is very good but I almost wish I would have done 3.50's. As is is first gear is much better than...

    Rear end gears?

I haven't taken the car to the strip. Since it is a convertible if I run faster than 13.49 IIRC I have to put a 4 pt roll bar in. I am not interested in doing that. I know how I am. My run would look like this ......... spin like crazy off the line then get it hooked up. Run through the...

    Rear end gears?

I am using 3.70 gears with my T56. I think you could also use 3.50's and be happy with the result.

    T56 clearance in 1968 Mustang

Header clearance is an issue. I have an almost new set of Headman Long tube headers that I am taking off in the next couple weeks and replacing them with JBA shorty's. I had the headers coated locally and they look great. Kind of sad to have to swap them but ground clearance is an issue. I...

    T56 clearance in 1968 Mustang

The tunnel is both wide enough and wide enough for a 67-70 car. The have a larger trans tunnel than 65-66 cars. I am living proof that you can have a 2.5-3 degree drivetrain angle and the original tunnel. It comes down to lowering the motor a little. If you don't drop the engine you will...

    T56 clearance in 1968 Mustang

The mods I had to make were to use engine lowering motor mounts and a custom tranny crossmember. Since you are going to make the motor mounts I don't see what the big deal would be. I used Ron Morris lowering mounts (drop the engine 1/2"). I am not sure where the end of the 300 would be in...

    T56 clearance in 1968 Mustang

I did a T56 conversion. Here is a link to a thread I did on another site. I had a T5 before the T56 and love the fact I have 2 OD gears. I feel it is a perfect combo for my 3.70 rear gears. Started my T56 conversion. - Vintage Mustang Forums

    AFR 165

This is exactly what I did. I had a set of 165's on my engine for about a year and then decided to do it again but make it stronger. I ended up selling my engine at a big loss and picked up a set of heads from Jay Allen at Camshaftinnovations.com. I got a set of Trick Flow Fast As Cast (too...

I went to get an estimate today...

I did the metal work on my car and then took it to the body shop for final smoothing and paint. I saved a buth of money and am proud of the results. I did not want to paint the car because I am very particular and would notice all the flaws.

New 331 is in the car but I have a fan problem.

The fans will allow the air to flow through the radiator and exit from the open areas. The fans are centered on each of those areas and when they are on the will do the same thing as a traditional plastic shroud they cam in originally. It won't effect them or how they work. The big difference...

New 331 is in the car but I have a fan problem.

Not a big bore. Just .040 on this so it is actually 333 inches. I could have gone 4.125 but would not leave any space for future bore since that is the max on the Boss block.
