Victor Jr's too big for a street car?

Joe, That is the header I am using. I have notice that when I dropped the engine using Ron Morris's mounts the header is close enough to the rubber boots on the rack that it has melted them. The headers do work and did not require any modifications to work with the rack. I am sure with...

Are you saying you see a turbo kit in my future? :D Of course that would be in addition to the blower!

Victor Jr's too big for a street car?

So the Victor jr's would give similiar performance to the 185's without loosing some at the low end?

Victor Jr's too big for a street car?

I'm building a Boss blocked blower motor (331 or big bore 347) for my car this winter and am looking at a set of Victor Jr heads. I am looking for 500-550 rwhp and will be running a Vortech blower pushing about 10 psi. I still want to have some low end torque and am wondering if Victor Jr's...

Did some upgrades to my 67 turbo'd stang

More details on the engine please. What heads are you running? Camshaft? I am building a new 331 for my car out of a Boss block and need to decide if I want to use my AFR 165's or go BIGGER. Your car is looking great and provides me some inspiration to get busy working on mine. Great job...

I've decided to put a 331 in my car and have a question.

I have always heard that the exhaust flow was more important flow wise than the intake. The 165 and 185's have the same flow on the exhaust and at the lift of my Trick Flow Stage 1 cam there is only a 17 cfm difference on the intake valve. On a dyno test listed on the AFR website the engines...

I've decided to put a 331 in my car and have a question.

Well I have solved the block problem and purchased one on flea bay that a guy bought, machined and then changed directions. I got a good deal on it considering it is ready to bolt together. Of course I will have my engine guy look it over before I do anything. It is a new Boss block!

I've decided to put a 331 in my car and have a question.

I don't know anything about doing that but I assume my machinist does. The only problem I could see with that is the engine already runs on the warm side and I don't know if that would cause that problem to get worse. I assume when you fill the block you add some sort of dense material to...

I've decided to put a 331 in my car and have a question.

I agree on the heads. There really isn't that much flow difference between 165's and 185's up to the lift of the cam I am using (trick flow stage 1). I figure that if I can use these heads with the good enough idea I can spend a bit more on the block. I have been looking at the SHP block and...

I've decided to put a 331 in my car and have a question.

Why go with a heavy big block when I can make more power with a small block? :D

I've decided to put a 331 in my car and have a question.

Still no luck on finding a block. What do you guys think of an original Boss block or a Mexican block. Are they strong enough to handle 600 HP?

    67 gauges

I have my original gauges from my 68. I decided to go with aftermarket gauges instead of stock. They worked fine for me when they were in the car. PM if you want them.

    Electric or Standard water pump

Well I just purchased a 55 gpm Meziere unit. I call them and they said that you can run the heater with that unit and he said that I should run a thermostat with the setup. He did say that I should drill a couple holes in the thermostat to help with water circulation until it reaches operating...

    Ron Morris adjustable motor mounts

I have the lowering version and it allowed me to put a T56 6 speed in my car without cutting the trans tunnel.
  18. 6

Yes Virginia, you can run a line from your Meziere electric pump to your heater core

Do you have any pictures of the water pump hooked up to the heater? Thanks!

    Electric or Standard water pump

I assume the heater will still be functional. Does anyone have a picture of an install of a 55 gpm unit?
