    Coil spring compressor

    Im also replacing the front coils on my car along with the spring seats and sway bar end links. I have read here that with the end links removed and the UCA down all the way you can slide the 620 springs in. Is this true?

    Cutting coil springs while installed?

    tjnavyblue, Im cutting the stock coils, still havent got the spring compressor from the store so I might give your recommendation a shot. Never dawned on me to unblot the shock to get move slack from the A-arm.

    Here is a couple of pics of the engine and engine stand. Update on extra parts, two autolite 2100 carbs, one four barrel intake manifold, two distributors, stock heads, gold air cleaner assy, gold vavle covers, stock export brace and other assorted parts. All for $250.

    289 with extras for sale

    The engine has not been touched that I can tell and I looked it over pretty good, looks all origional. The heads were on it but took them off to lighten the load when i moved it. Ill try and get some pics of the engine for you.

    Anyone ever try cutting the coils while installed? Had the front end of the car up last night and noticed that it would be easy to make the cut and take good measurements before cutting. Who has done this? I know this is some shade tree mechanic work but just wanted to ask first. Thanks

    gear ratios?

    I just changed out my gears not to long ago and went with 3.40's and posi. If I was to do it over again I would probably go with a 3.55.
