door lock problem please read everyone

Zues go to a junkyard, if you can find one, get a car that is your year and cut the pigtails off the car in the yard. Then you will have the proper wiring and everything. Wish we would have thought of that before with the windows. You would have found out the probkem alot sooner. As for the...

    Steering and Carb Questions...

Replace the rack yourself. I have done mine twice with no problems. If the car is a little old or has high miles you might as well change the steering lines and the outer tie rods. Update the outter tie rods to the newer style that are heavier. You definitely need the fuel pressure regulator...

    Door Lock Problems

Hissin, I meant for T-Topperson to look at the other thread, thinking he might get some ideas from that one. I thought that the alarm relays might be the other guys problem, and the info you provided to him was pretty good. Any ideas where the 30A circuit breaker is for the stock power...

    Fuel pump help needed NOW!!!

Are you sure that everything is gettin power when you turn the key to run after start? Did you change anything in the ignition from stock? The reasont that I ask is that if you wired anything you may have just tapped the wrong wires. Just a thought. I still can't figure out how the fuel...

    Door Lock Problems

That is exactly the bolt and wire that I was referring to. I couldn't remember exactly where it was cause I haven't had the doors apart in a while. If you find the green hex head bolt and no wire, there is your problem. Keep in mind that if that is the case, you will need to find out why it...

    Door Lock Problems

There should be a ground wire in each door that bolts to the door itself. Check the harness carefully, you should see a black wire with an eye on it. Then there should be a green bolt somewhere on the door, small one. That is where it should ground.

    Fuel pump help needed NOW!!!

Are you sure it is not running in the Run position? The reason I ask is that you will not always hear the fuel pump from inside the car when it is running. Best thing to do to make sure is to tap into the wires with a test light or multimeter at the tank (there is a little connector back there...

    A different Mark VIII question

Took me a few hours, not that bad though. It took more time to wire it the way I did than installing the fan to the radiator and cutting the shroud.

    Fuel pump help needed NOW!!!

Since you just got the motor in the car, did you replasce the ground straps for the motor? If not that may be your problem. Since it is only coming on in the start position it sounds like a wiring problem. Check all your grounds to the computer and the harness under the hood. Also check and make...

Bad distributor... Any ideas why, or natual wear? *video inside*

GAWD DANG IT. I have never seen one with the bushings that far gone. It was't eating caps, or anything else? The only thing that was probably keeping it in place is the oil pump shaft.

    Fuel pump help needed NOW!!!

Cycle the key 10-20 times. That will build up the pressure in the system. The fuel pump cycles for 5-20 seconds only. it will not run longer than that, hence the need to cycle the key. If you are not building up pressure there is most likely a leak somewhere.

    A different Mark VIII question

I installed mine on a Griffin 3-core and have some clearance. Not a whole lot but enough to operate. Mine is upside down as well, and it was trimmed about 1/2-3/4".

    Door Lock Problems

The 30A breaker should be in the fuse block. Look on the cover to the fuse block and you should see it. If not, I don't know where to look 'cause I think that is where mine is. You should double check the grounds as well. I know for a fact that if one door is not grounded, neither side will work.

    Power Door Locks....hmmmm

If you have an alarm I think there might be two seperate relays. You need to locate all of the relays under the dash that are wired to the locks and check to make sure they are working (you know one does for sure). It is either that or the lock actuators are locking up and either need to be...

    Power Window Conversion

Good call there trbkrb. I did this too, and couldn't have said it better. The only thing I would add, is that since you would be inside the door already, replace the window guide bushings They are pretty cheap from 50Resto and will stop the window from rocking back and forth.
