I think we all got raped : (`

Dealers don't use the KBB anyway, so it's a moot point. The car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it (dealer or private party). KBB means jack in the real world, all it can do is give you a guideline as to what the car is worth but it's not written in stone, and is generally high...

    How fast are you???

Not much of a point, only that 3 years after the death of the Camaro the Mustang GT is still slower :) Not that it really hurts its appeal any. I doubt too many people aren't buying a GT because it's a few ticks slower than an LS1 F-Body. Ford's selling all the GTs they can crank out, I...

    How fast are you???

C5s also have IRS, which tends to sap a little more power than a straight axle. F-Bods got the same LS1 engine as the C5, it doesn't take too much to get 350HP out of an F-Body.

    How fast are you???

Because there are very few cars that are selling at MSRP these days, like the Mustang. Just because there's no rebates or special financing right now doesn't mean there's no "wiggle room" for the dealer to go below MSRP on a GTO. They can still sell the car below MSRP and make money on the...

    How fast are you???

There are currently NO incentives on the 2005 GTO, it's actually selling pretty well. No rebates, no special financing, and no employee pricing. The 2004 on the other hand...

    Why 4.6?

The F-bodies were very competitive pricewise with the Mustang GT. My fully-loaded 2002 Z28 stickered at $27,000 - you can bump up a loaded 2005 GT close to $30,000 today. Back in the day when the Camaro and the Stang sold side by side, there was very little difference in price between the two.

    How fast are you???

That's what I have. I'd like to go 3.73 in the rear pretty soon - just to see how much difference it makes in the 1/4 :D

    Why 4.6?

I shouldn't pick on Ford alone. Ask some Mazda RX8 owners about their mileage. When I was looking into one of those a while back, reports of 14-16 MPG were not uncommon...

    Why 4.6?

There's nothing wrong with owning a V6 Mustang, and I never said there was. I never said you or anyone else was an idiot for owning own either. What I did say was that the mileage the V6 gets is pathetic. This is my opinion after driving one and getting less than 20 MPG with mostly highway...

    How fast are you???

Magazine racing is one thing, actually running at the track is another. :) I've never been to the track until a few weeks ago with my 2002 Z28. It's an A4, but I managed better times than three other LS1 Camaros out there, as well as a 2005 Roush GT Mustang. I had him by 1/2 second...

    Why 4.6?

The LS1 is a very reliable engine. Yes, some of them have piston slap issues but in most cases it doesn't affect the performance or longevity of the engine. I have a 2002 Z28, and I have some minor piston slap for the first 30-60 seconds after I start the car but after that it's fine. It...

    How fast are you???

No, you'll find that the typical LS1 will walk you every time. That is unless you've invested in some decent power upgrades to your car :) You're probably a closer match to an LT1 powered car, stock for stock.

For All Those Interested in Speeding Ticket PREVENTION, Please Read!

Not sure about Federal law on this issue, but the Colorado law that just went into effect is about radar: Perhaps radar jammers are illegal under FCC guidelines and this just makes it easier for police officers to nail you on it, I don't know.

    Rocky Mountain Radar PHAZER II

Front license plate is the preferred target (it's flat and reflective). Headlights are another juicy target. That's why I have no front plate on my Camaro (even though it's required in Colorado). :D

According to RadarBusters.com: Radar jammers just became illegal in Colorado on July 1st as well :(

Was a stick the wrong choice?

The number of gears really doesn't matter. The A4 GTO (according to Pontiac at least) is faster than the M6 0-60 and 1/4. The real issue is that the 5-speed manual is SO much more fun to drive, if you can drive it. If I ever break down and get a new Stang, it will have to be a stick. The...

So, how does the Charger compare...

No, Pontiac takes the award at least for 2001-2002 with the Aztek. No vehicle Chrysler (or anyone else) makes is uglier than that abomination :D
  18. J

    Why 4.6?

The 2005 GTO is rated 17/25 with the M6, and 16/21 with the A4.

    OK price?

Do you really want a new car that's been beat on by 100s of people at car shows? Are these shows the kind where hundreds of people show up and get to drive the cars around a parking lot track or something? If so, I'd pass on the deal, but that's just me.
