    Thanks for the compliments guys! No its not done, it looks good from about 10 feet away though! There are still lots of flaws, crap in the paint, runs, over spray, and worst of all, the painter did not use the proper adhesion promoter on the pin striping so the clear is coming off of them.

    The holly upper will only bolt to the 302 truck lower, the 351 has oval ports and is completely different.

    I paid $700 for mine! Of course it was in less than perfect condition! It had a bad fuel pump, blown motor, and needed body work and paint! But now I have a supercharged mustang that I built with mostly used parts off of CL and Ebay for under 10k!

    removing Chrome

    Why remove the chrome if you are going to paint them anyway? The chrome can be scuffed up and painted just like any other surface. If I remember correctly there are several how to's for painting chrome rims on the web.

    The 2v block is much stronger than the 5.0. The 4.6 block itself can handle upwards of 1000hp. It is true that the Teksid blocks found in the 96-98 cobras are significantly stronger still. They can handle somewhere in the neighborhood of 1500hp. (the newer cobras were somewhere in between)...

    The 5.0 has a better aftermarket, more parts available and cheaper. The 4.6 block can handle much more power than the 5.0

    Saw my first 2011 5.0 yesterday...

    Push rods disappeared in 96, the 96-04 2v and 4v motors were all over head cams. In 05 they switched to the 3v which is also an overhead cam motor. I thought this info was painfully obvious, but :shrug:. As for the new 5.0, just give it some time, we'll see how it does, I wouldn't start...

    Check your timing! If your pinging you can just pull some timing. Its free, and you don't have to put any crap in your tank. So.............Tell us about this "blown 408 in the works"
