Supercharged but has CARBON Build up

Not sure how the Holley Commander works, but the ECU is probably compensating for the AFR to some degree, based on EGO readings, but most ECU's will only do so much. A 25% change would be big. My Megaquirt is only making AFR changes in the 5-8% range. Try moving the AFR at WOT to...

    HELP - 302 in a Triumph TR6, clutch ques

Without knowing how much travel you have at the MC, it sounds like you need to either add more travel to the clutch pedal or increase the MC bore size to 7/8" or reduce the slave to 3/4". I'm using a 3/4" CMC slave with a 3/4" Tilton MC on my Mustang. A Wilwood or Tilton cylinder will bolt...

    BAD vibration at 1800rpm

The 351 is balanced at 28 oz. If you are using the 5.0 flywheel, that's the problem. Have it rebalanced to 28oz.

    Name this mystery part

If the only thing wrong with it are those two worn teeth, why not just MIG or TIG and file it?

    What seats to go with

Please!! Just not another Mustang with those cheap ricer-racer seats! I hope that's a fad that will soon die.:bang: The late-model seats are easy and not that expensive. And I recently saw a Mustang with a set of very nice Recaros from a BMW that looked very good. On another occasion I...

    Infinite speed Wiper Switch

I have a 79 Ford truck 2-speed wiper motor and intermittent switch in my 66. I had to shorten the switch 3/8" to fit the Mustang knob and enlarge the holes for the wiper motor grommets. Pretty much a bolt in. Cost was about $50 total.

    New disc brakes not working

I think the rod from the booster isn't engaging your master cylinder until you have it pushed pretty far. That would account for the lack of boost and the soft pedal. The hole in the MC is too deep. A couple of solutions come to mind: 1. Make the booster rod longer. It should be...

    I6 to 408W swap?

The spindles are the same, V8 or I6 that year, IIRC, but the brakes are different. I think it would be very interesting to see someone try to stop that car from a 120+ mph pass on itty, bitty 9" 6cyl drums!

    Corvette C4 rear end?

I'd be interest to see if anyone has tried to put a C4 front crossmember under a Stang.

does this sounds high for 1/4 skin replacment cost?

A friend of mine in the business said that if he were to estimate it, he would probably have to get ~20 hours per side plus materials, depending on the condition of the car. Skins and quarters require several hours of bodywork even after welding. His total would be somewhere in the...

Wiring kit, competition for painless ?

It's definitely GM color coded, even the so called "Mustang" kit. But if you take your time, pay attention to the Ford-GM color code interchange, it does work well. I kept a lot of the extra circuits rolled up under the dash for later.

does this sounds high for 1/4 skin replacment cost?

Sounds a little low to me. At current average shop rates, that means they figure they can do all that in about 10 to 12 hours per side. Maybe they can, but it took me longer than that and I have a pretty well equipped garage that rivals a lot of small shops. Or maybe I'm just slow.....

Wiring kit, competition for painless ?

I've used these before. They are generic kits with GM color codes and unterminated ends. It worked well on the last hot rod. I am installing one in my 66 coupe now. It works fine, but you have to keep in mind a couple of details. First, the ends are not terminated. That means you need to...

    homegrown 5 leaf update

On one of my old hot rods I used polyethelene seat webbing as anti-friction material between the leaves. It worked really great to smooth out the ride while not affecting spring rate. Besides the obvious cracks and wear, the only other thing you should make sure you check are the spring...

    increase HP in a I6 200ci

I6 owners need to understand, building a 300 hp turbo engine is the second thing that needs to be built. The first is to bring the chassis up to speed. Your drivetrain, brakes, and steering need to be able to safely utilize the increase in power. You also need to plan on adding either a...

    Fire and Ice

This is the Ford XR6 turbo with the "Cobra" package making 450Kw (603hp) in the BA Falcon. The stock XR6 Turbo "only" makes 360 hp. :jaw: The DOHC is very similar in packaging dimensions to the older 200-250 and the Crossflow, and it would be an easy fit in an early Stang. I looked...

Experience: Comp cams 268H in a stock 289

It could still be a rocker problem. Had the same thing happen to me once. Turns out the heads I got were early style heads with rail rocker type valves. Are the heads themselves the rail rocker type or are they the earlier stud type with the tight pushrod clearance slots? Running rail...

    increase HP in a I6 200ci

The crossflow head on a US 200 or 250 is a relatively straightforward swap, but is by no means a bolt-on. There is some fabricating and machine work that has to be performed. And on a 200, none of the stock intakes will clear the distributor so something has to be fabricated to fit. That's...
