    Mrs. HistoricMustang

I see you've posted a picture of Mrs. Historic. It is appropriate since this is her thread.:p Yea, they claimed they rinsed that bucket out first. I'm not so sure. They are on a new kick now: Cranberry juice, vodka, and some sort of liqueur. I've noticed the champion drivers don't drink...

Historic, You should change your lettering on your car. Your class is IAV (not AIX).:) Here's VIR (Virginia International Raceway): Mustang, Porsche 911, Falcon, Porsche 914

Nope. It was a driver in a Camaro that jumped the green flag and caused it. He was expelled and three other drivers were suspended. The Cobra (who Historic used to race with) is a real one. No kit cars are allowed in vintage. One of the Camaro's (not the one expelled) had just won a...

2007 Shelby GT500 Pics and Specs

Who said anything about rally racing? Many Mustang owners like to road race their cars. You may have heard of NASA, AV8SS, and SCCA? I've been to the drag strip. It was fun. I got to shift three times and 11 seconds later I was in the pits waiting for an hour to go back out. I just find...

Here is what happens when things go bad. We had two friends in this race that escaped damage. No one was hurt (only one broken arm). Most had been wearing head/neck restraints. (Brian Redman Internation Challenge [BRIC] at Road America)

Here's a pic of our friend Tim's car at the Walter Mitty last April. This is a bad fast car with a stroked 351ci engine, dog ring tranny, and a NASCAR downflow radiator. The guy in the Porsche 911 RSR is wondering how in the world an old Mustang could have gotten by him.

Here's a pick as the car is just entering a right turn. Note the negative camber required to make it turn. The left tire is beginning to get the full patch on the payemnt. This was taken at the SVRA support race to the 12 Hours of Sebring. It's fun racing in front of 150,000 people (and 100...

Just picked up a 94 cobra

The '94 Cobra has the GT40 heads with 1.84" intake valves and 1.54" exhaust valves. They also have stronger springs. They used Crane roller-rockers. Crane calls them 1.70:1, and Ford called them 1.72:1. The GT had 1.60:1 (or 1.59:1 depending on what info you read). Regardless, it's great...

Hey Historic! I guess you've been on the "fast track" lately since I haven't seen you at a race track in a couple of years.:D I understand your brother is building a new FIA '65 ('66?) Mustang race car. I was in the pits at Daytona last fall when he won his third (or was it fourth?) Rolex...

In a straight line, indeed. No one I know is interested in just straight line speeds. C6 Z06 = 3120 lbs. and 500hp; aluminum block located behind the front spindles. Has won LeMans and ALMS championships. S197 Shelby = 3900lbs. and 475hp.; iron block on top of front spindles. The S197...

    Vintage Racing HUGE wreck !

Everyone is OK. No one was hurt. This particular race (fan attendence was 20,000) did not require a previous racing history (a racing pedigree) to enter. All vintage racers in the many different vintage sanctioning bodies were invited. It is one of the most popular in the nation. Only...

    Front brake cooling

No way I can keep up with Tim. He did just sell his silver coupe race car to a guy in FL. He is building a ultra-nice blue FB. He just bought a green '67 GT350 (he knew the original owner--Jim O.). That makes two GT350's in his stable. He had two big Ford 60's station wagons the last time I...

disk brake swap on a '65

my 2 cents SN95 brakes on a '65. I've never seen them. You'd have to fabricate brackets. I'd recommend something easier (Kelsey or Lincoln). You could also run into wheel clearance problems. The 8.8 has completely different brackets as the original 8" (or 9") rear diff. I think it also...

    8" Rear End

You forgot to mention that the 9" has alot more gear ratios to choose from. The 9" is a must for drag racing. The 8" does well in road racing and light street use.

    Front brake cooling

Hey Henry! Long time no see. How come that '65 has rust all over the rotors? You should take it out more often! :D Doesn't no_3's Shelby R apron have cooling ducts built into the apron? Some styles are placed so that the ducts are perfected located so you can hook up the ducts and route...

    12/17/04 production numbers

Plus... Ford just announced they had 60,000 dealer orders which doesn't include individual that have ordered one. I'll predict 200,000 the first year. I suspect many are waiting on the vert. (the last few years they've averaged 140,000)
