A two part ? Super Unleaded Gas & A Shift Light

The higher the octane, the harder it is to ignite. Higher octane fuel is used to prevent pre-ignition. Pre-ignition is when the fuel ignites before it is supposed to putting extreme stress on the motor. Pre-ignition is commonly called detonation. Unless your car was designed for or is tuned...

Idle Air Control 'Motor' ?? IAC Valve...

Do they have the Motorcraft part? The Motorcraft part number is F8VZ-9F715-AB for my 2001 GT. I have heard the aftermarket IAC valves don't last but, I don't have any first hand experience there, just repeating what I have heard here and on other boards. I "usually" stick with Ford...

What gear ratio for auto. 2003 GT's

See, now you have gone and confused me again :p I think the only way I am going to be able to make up my mind is to drive a Mustang with each gear ratio. Looks like I am gonna have to bum some rides at the next club meeting.

What gear ratio for auto. 2003 GT's

I hear ya on the highway miles and 4.10s. I put about 80 miles on my GT every day commuting to and from work. If you are looking at B&M I would go with the 70268. It is about the size of a sheet of paper and 3.4 inches thick...

What gear ratio for auto. 2003 GT's

Are you happy with the 3.73s? I keep going back and forth trying to decide between 3.73s and 4.10s. The 'Stang is my daily driver and I commute about 80 miles a day. Seems most who really push the 4.10s are hard core drag racer's. That is not me, I am more likely to autocross than drag race...

What gear ratio for auto. 2003 GT's

What are your plans for the car? You might want to also consider 4.10s with that 4R70W automatic. Either way you probably should also think about getting an auxilliary transmission fluid cooler.

Question about a K&N Air Charger kit on my Mach 1

The reason for the "Off-Road Only" label is that the Air Charger is not CARB approved and therefore "may" be illegal for on-road use in some states. http://www.knfilters.com/aircharger/aircharger.htm Here is a link to the K&N FIPK II page for the Mach 1. They have a dyno chart there...

Synthetic oil a "waste" of money?

Hey, keep it up and you will probably be at 1000 by the end of the month :nice: Actually your comment proves there is more than one in every crowd :bang:

Synthetic oil a "waste" of money?

It is obvious we disagree on this issue but, was the "crackpot theory" comment necessary? Yes, 20K is well beyond reason for most people. It is attainable though with the right oil, a bypass oil filter and filter changes. That is not something though that most people are going to be willing...

Synthetic oil a "waste" of money?

This is really only true for those drivers that do frequent short trips where the motor does not have time to reach operating temperature. The contamination comes from unburnt fuel and water that accumulates in the oil. This usually gets mostly burned off if the car is driven on trips long...

    Anyone use royal purple?

It is a shame that the mods aren't more active here. Guess maybe we need more mods. Maybe threads wouldn't get hijacked as much as they do. It is really simple, if you don't have anything positive to contribue to the thread starter's question, why post at all? Is it just to inflate your post...

    Best wax?

I have always been a die hard carnauba guy but, I too have recently been playing around with synthetics. The problem with most of them is they leave a very sterile, hard shine. What I like most about carnauba is that it makes the paint look like a wet pool of liquid. Sealants seem to lack the...

    Autometer gauge cluster

Hmmm this is interesting. Unless there is something I am missing here the guage cluster from www.mustangtuning.com is made by Simco, not Autometer. http://www.mustangtuningforums.com/showthread.php?t=2576&highlight=simco http://www.simcoltd.com/ They do look similar though. Here is...

Can i swap out my magnaflow mufflers for magnapacks?

Nope, the inlet and outlets on the Magnaflow muffler are offset and the Magnapak muffler is a straight through design. The pipes from the muffler back will not line up at all if you swapped the mufflers. I called Magnaflow and asked as well as went under the car and pulled the mufflers and...

Tranny And Steering Repaired Under TSB

Just to get technical here, your car was NOT fixed under TSB. Your car is probably still under warranty. TSB stands for technical service bulletin. A TSB is just a bulletin to notify dealers and owners of a problem and usually a corrective action. A good dealer will always check for TSBs...
