Alternate trac-lok disk stacking & leaving out S-spring when rebuilding questions...

By reacting differently what I mean is under hard wheel spinning conditions if my car is pointed right in first gear and I shift to second it will be pointing right and it does this quickly so you have to be ready for it. then in third it goes the other way again. For normal white man sunday...

    Why Aluminum Intake Manifolds?

just run nitrous and you will never have to worry about your intake being hot. My intake is Ice cold after a blast down the track on the giggle gas.

    1983 5.0 cam selection.

best suggestion is to phone comp cams tech line or isky or edelbrock or holley or whichever brand of cam you want and give them the info on your car/motor and they will recommend the cam that will work best.

    reuse head bolts?

We have all reused them. Probably not really supposed to. that might just be propaganda spewed from bolt manufactures to up sales but....... really if you can afford it buy new ones. I have seen people have issues when they reused bolts and lots that have got away with it. its up to you.

    SUSPENSION

ouch ^^^ ! Well basically the only thing you can do is change springs to get ride hieght up or install new spring isolators as mentioned but that will give you very minimal hieght.

    How would you install a T5 5.0?

I have done it every way. All of them have there pro's and cons. If the engine and tranny are out together then put them together on the ground and lift them in at the same time. I usally just have to change tranny so I leave the bellhousing on and just pull the four bolts and remove the tranny.

Alternate trac-lok disk stacking & leaving out S-spring when rebuilding questions...

Keep the s-spring in that would be a bad idea. I run the modified clutch steel clutch steel setup. The rear end is very tight. I like it quite a bit. It does react a little different then my car used to with clutch steel steel clutch ford factory setup but its nothing that you can not get...

Pic of new timeslip with MT ET Streets

It is a trial and error thing. You don't want to spin the tires too much but you want to stay away from the bog aswell. I would suggest that you play with launch rpm. You have 1500 rpm there to play with between 3500 and 5000rpm. You might find a sweet spot there. Your suspension does hurt...

Yes the sixty foot is a little slow but what springs and struts and shocks are you running. Maybe its a suspension issue more then a tire issue.

installed new timing chain and i think im running lean

Everytime I have installed a timing chain I have lined up the maks on the gears and reset the timing. Which of course involved getting engine to proper spot (TDC #1) and restab dizzy. If you are concerned I would be doing it that way. Sounds like you my have already buttoned it all up...

    Timing Issue

Usally a backfire through the intake is a timing/valve train issue. If a intake valve is not closing properly you could be back-firing through the intake. I would start with going over the valve train to make sure you don't have an issue there. Then I would start to play with the timing.

    Battery cables smoking hot??

A dead short would definetally cause that kinda heating issue. On a dead short amps will be through the roof. Usally that would blow a fuse but if there was short before the protection then watch out. Glad you found the problem before you burnt the car down.

    Clutch problems

I was going to say It sounds like your clutch cable was stretching and the fact that it snapped almost proves it. Get a good clutch cable and you should be fine.

    dual or single electric fan

Make sure if its a puller that whatever fan you buy a good portion of your rad is covered with a shroud. Usally the dual fans cover more of the rad which IMO makes for a more efficient fan (when its a puller).

    its revvin...but not movin???

    Running rich.

what codes is it spitting out? many times the ECT sensor is to blame. Basically the EFI's version of the choke. Check codes to see if its giving any faults before buying unneeded parts.
