I agree with you guys for the most part..Here is my reasoning for my above post:
If you add up the cost for full bolt-ons plus labor and a custom tune its prolly about $3,000 or more...Which got me 298 rwhp on a mustang dyno..If I had to do it all over again I would have went straight to a...
There is no good reason NOT to go forced induction unless you dont have/ or want to spend the $$$..If you want to be "different" than most guys at car shows with 450 rwhp+, then by all means spend thousands on cams and heads and an intake to get maby 380 rwhp..You will find just as many cars...
I would take the $ you want to spend on all that stuff and buy a s/c..A full kit comes with EVERYTHING you will need..And you can have 400 + rwhp rather than 300 or so rwhp..I spent alot of $$ on bolt-ons just to get bored with the power quickly and I got beat a few times..Unless you are 100%...
If you want a "cool" sound like you asked, get a MAgnaflow O/R x-pipe and Magnapack cat back's..It sjust a little loud but everytime I get on it, I still get a woody:nice:
You are not correct about "real hp" when adding headers to s-197's, they net very little for the cost of parts and labor in relation to $$-hp ratio...
You are 100% correct on the rest of the mods, mostly gears..IMO gears are one of the biggest seat-of-the-pants mods you can do besides F/I..We...
I installed mine at the same time as a bunch of other ****, but I believe these plates definitely help out more with a car thats got F/I..I wouldnt be surprised to see a jump of about 8-10 whp on a car with F/I and at the same time no loss in rwtq..
Nice job! I too get my custom tuning done on a Mustang dyno..If it was a dynojet, you would have seen about 440 or so whp, for what its worth..Sounds like a good strong safe tune on there, again congrats..
Like the above posts...Its ALL in the tune..With the right custom tune, you can still make good power and be safe.I too have an auto at 420 or so rwhp on a mustang dyno, power cooler is going on soon and should be 460 whp + safe still..Youcan have 350 whp with a crappy tune and blow it up..Find...
I love the stock wings on our cars, and I dont like non-functional hood scoops..I would leave it with what you have if it was me, but its not me, so do what you think you will like, cuz it doesnt matter what I think ultimately:D

I get the engine warm, then spray it down with diluted purple power..let it sit for about 1o min..then rinse with soft spray of water..Blow dry with a shop vac..spray down entire engine bay with turtle wax F22and let dry..Works like a charm:D
p.s...wrap your air filter element in plastic...
I have 4:10's with my auto and love them..IMO 3:73's arent enough for our cars, remember we are sort of heavy..If I had a stick, I would have went with 3:73's..
