    Poor gas milage

Yes, and no. On the premium fuel. If your single plug is pulling timing from the knock sensor, then premium will help. On the dual plug, the partial throttle seems to "reteach" itself over a few hundred miles on premium and the economy goes up some. And the other part of my observation-no...

    New thermostat new problems

Did you get a cheapie or a quality part? Take the thermostat out, put it in a kettle of water and heat the water until it opens. Then measure the temp of the water. It should correspond with the rating stamped on it. :nice:

4 Cyl Engine + Auto: How good?

my 2.3 has 189,000 hard miles, I would trust that motor(good running ones in the junk yard go @$225. The price seems a little high unless it's immaculate. Similar age convertibles with comparable miles go @$14-$1600. Up here in the rust belt the car you're looking at would probably bring low 2's.

    Poor gas milage

Thermostat may not be allowing car to reach full operating temp/ or sensor could be telling the computer it's still cold. You'll be under 20mpg if that's the case.

Where the fuel metering sucks or the fuel dropplet size is large, it may help. But so would an appropriately place vacuum leak.

    Springs ASAP

Speaking from experience :( ,2" is too much. 1.5 isn't too bad, lowering the center of gravity is great for handling, but on the roads in this part of the salt belt, the wheels got-to-be on the ground to achieve handling. For this you will need travel. :flag:

Either run with the stock computer management, or go carbed and std distributer and bail the computer. Either route will need manifold work to realize major gains.

Subframe install, what to watch out for

GT hit it on the head- whatever twist is on the body when it's welded is where it will stay- ie,use a level floor and support frame points if possible. Hoists are easier to use, but unless you know they are level under load, don't use a lift. Bolt on is good for limiting flex, but it really...
