Unfortunately, the Flowtech's is what I've been using for the past 3 years now. At the time I ordered them, money was tight so they were basically my only option. Am I happy with them? No. :notnice: I think I have like 10 exhaust leaks from every slip-fit joint. But they will soon be...
I've decided that either way I go, I'd still make the 351 a roller engine with the retrofit lifters.(Unless I find a late model block) Plus I'd opt to keep the fuel injection. My main concern was compression since I'd like to keep it low for boost later on(probably between 8.5-9 or so). I was...
I looked into with and it doesn't come with the sportsman block. There's a more expensive version of this from Ford that runs about $3100 and it has the sportsman block. I really don't want to have to resort to using a "better block" since they run between $850-2500. Another reason about the...
I kind of like the fact that the 351W block will be stronger for future plans such as a turbo. As far as the exhaust goes, I was buying going to buy new headers(probably the BBK longtubes). Another thing that made me curious is why someone said the 351 was too hot?
I'm seriously debating whether or not I'll stroke my 5.0 or just drop in a healthy 351W. Along with either combo, I'll most likely be using a set of AFR 185's with it. I was already going to buy new headers for my car(crappy Flowtech's on right now) so it would seem a 351W would be the way to...
I forgot to mention that the heads are still stock with stock valves. I already put in a spring and retainer kit from Crane when I installed the cam. So should I just go with some 1.6's just to be safe? Either way, it'll be better than using the stock rockers.
I've got a 92 motor in my Capri and wondering if the 1.7rr's will be ok with the E-303 cam I have and the fact that my heads have been milled about .015.
I plan to get some new headers to replace my old Flowtech longtubes. They were cheap at the time I bought them but I've decided to spring for something much nicer.(and coated) So, what's the opinions on these brands: BBK, MAC, other?
Kind of sucks for me. I just slipped in a new cam in my car and was going to have new 4.10's put in only to find out my Auburn heavy duty diff has some broken spider gears. :nonono: With it being so close to FFW, I simply can't afford to buy a new diff right now and decided to just build up...
I'll be going there as well. True Street for me. Still don't know why I still have to do the 30 mile cruise since I'm over 200 miles away and I drove down there. :D My car won't be hard to find. Last 2 years I've went, there was only 3 Capri's including mine and I had the slowest one. :rlaugh:
So far I haven't spent any money on looks except for some polish and black spray paint for the trim and etc. I do have Welds though but they're really for performance. All my money has been to go faster. Here's an old, blurry pic anyways since I'm bored.
Once my thermostat stuck and I too overheated my car pretty bad. After driving it around the next couple of days, I kept smelling antifreeze. Then decided to pull my plugs and antifreeze came out of one of the spark plug holes. Turns out it screwed up a head gasket. After I replaced the...
So would it be better just to stick with the 2.5 or go with a 2.3 since they're more common? I probably will just stick with a carb for it's simplicity.
Though it won't go into a Mustang, it'll still go into a Ford. I've got a 72 Pinto in need of a little extra power so I was thinking about rebuilding a 2.5 on a low budget to help it out. It'll also be N/A and I may just change out the auto tranny in it. So how much power can I expect out of...
I've only hit 135 at the top of 4th in my car. It's a bit unstable with 3.5's in front with ET streets in the back. As far as the top speed is concerned, I really can't say I know. I only put out about 235rwhp which I don't think is good enough to 190+. Just my .02.
I did forget to mention that I'm also changing out the valve springs and retainers with a set from Crane that handles up to a .550" lift. About the only thing thats done to heads are that they were slightly milled and I ported out the exhaust a bit. I pretty much have all of the mentioned...
