93 gt long tubes vs shorties??

I don't see Larry Meaux, Darin Morgan, etc. posting around here........ and yes, leaving everything else "identical" is an evaluation procedure that is as valid as a 3 dollar bill with the picture of Mickey Mouse on it. So Pro Stock and NASCAR "do not race "3,500 RPM" and up, all of the...

93 gt long tubes vs shorties??

... If "Up top the HP/TQ power curve is identical"....I wonder why Pro Stock and NASCAR don't use shorties......and they race "3,500 + RPM" 100% of the time. Pro Stock NASCAR

    car is running lean...

Speed density systems may have a faulty MAP sensor (out of calibration range) w/out logging a failure code (code 22). Since backfiring through the intake = fuel starvation..... you may want to check how the engine runs by causing a partial vacuum leak at the MAP sensor hose (force a richer A/F...

HELP CODE 92, how to test egr circuit?

Key in IGN ON, while monitoring pin 43 voltage with DVOM, disconnect LH O2 sensor, if voltage drops to "0"..... the problem is the O2 sensor, if it doesn't......... you need to trace the wiring from the O2 connector for a short to power.

HELP CODE 92, how to test egr circuit?

Usually bad..... depending on the type of failure. Having a lean or rich code though, doesn't mean the O2(s) are necessarily at fault...... they might be just, doing their job....... informing the ECM and the operator there's a problem elsewhere causing an A/F control issue. If you want to...

96 Explorer engine cam valve piston clearance

All the lift the new valve springs + valves will allow. Total valve lift has nothing to do with the possibility of PtV problems. It's the "partial lift" and timing during the overlap cycle (exhaust to intake changeover) of both valves, that could cause problems. You could have a .600" lift cam...

HELP CODE 92, how to test egr circuit?

Again.... code 84 shouldn't cause the problem you're having, however, since you insist, use the pinpoint test attached.

    EGR passageway in heads

Those are the thermactor or AIR pump ports. The EGR ports are the ports in the middle of the intake side surface, between the two center bolts for the intake. These heads have it..... These don't.......

    car is running lean...

WOT..... yes, partial throttle...... how, at what point? You're also overlooking the results of the Adaptive Strategy...... present in all '86+ models and the '85 exception with the Tempo/Topaz models with the HSC/CFI engine. The strategy does change the base programming and uses its learning...

    car is running lean...

That is exactly how the system works as soon as the O2's reach close loop status, but not limited to cruising conditions only. Keep in mind that wide bands are not used, stoich status is defined in terms of a HEGO "rich-lean" switch or "jumpback" function, not a specific output signal from the...

    car is running lean...

If the system goes lean, lean code failures should be output by the system informing any fuel trim correction required falls above the EEC fuel trim capabilities. If this would not be true, installing 24# injectors in a SD system wouldn't be a problem, yet, it is....... with the 42 and 92 system...
