    clutch problem?

I had a throwout bearing problem with my 2000 GT, but this was a very unique sound, kind of like a...well...loud turkey gobble or wobbly squeaking noise when stationary and in neutral, with the clutch out. Your car do anything like this?

    Tampa Bay Tuner Shop?

I'd like to get some minor tuning done to my 2005 GT manual, mainly to improve throttle response (hopefully just easy reflashing.) Any recommendations on a good tuner shop in the Tampa Bay area who knows the 2005+ cars? Thanks!

    Locking Gas cap

Here's the problem I had when I put aftermarket locking caps on my 2000: They didn't seal perfectly, making the check engine light come on. I tried a couple of brands and they both did the same thing. My guess is that the 2005's emissions system is even more @#%@ sensitive. You can...

    flowmasters for 05/06 redsigned...

Some of the web sites I checked did state 3.5" for the American Thunders. I got mine a couple of months ago (very happy with them, good sound, little drone) and they're 4". I thought they might look too "fart-cannish," but they're rolled and they fill the bumper exhaust cutouts nicely, without...

    1,500mi/3000mi/5000mi?

When I bought my 05, I checked with two different dealerships to see what they recommended (the one I bought at and the one I go to for service, right by my house). They both said to get the first change before 5,000. I had my first change at 3,000. I trusted the dealer to use the 5W20...

    1,500mi/3000mi/5000mi?

Call a local Ford service shop. They should tell you that the cars come from the factory with semi-synthetic 5W20. I'm assuming that they don't vary this from region to region, although it's possible they might start with something different if you buy up north during the winter.

    04 GTO v 04 GT

I'm more interested in the current GTO, honestly, since it received such an upgrade. As a drag car, the stock 2005 GTO is clearly in a higher class than a stock 2005 Mustang GT. I have no problem with that! The GTO costs $5-6K more and gives you an extra 1.4 liters, 100HP, and 80lb-ft to take...

    Runnig close to redline?

Stock (except for Flowmaster AT's), my 5-speed doesn't chirp third unless I really get on it, full out, and it's a smooth road surface. Matter of fact, I think it's only done it once, when I was running against a Lightning. I don't think I've ever power shifted in any of my cars, even when...

    Video with SLPs and intake

I'm impressed how quickly and smoothly the auto shifts. Did you change the shift settings at all with your tune?

    Runnig close to redline?

Have fun, go balls out once in a while, don't worry about it. Ford put on a VERY aggressive rev limiter, doesn't even let you keep bouncing off the limiter. Now, powershifting at redline all the time, or even chirping 2nd a lot...that, I wouldn't do. Save that for the races.

    Torque Management?

Makes sense. If you lose battery power, is the programming saved, or does it have to be reflashed again?

    Torque Management?

Yep, that's what I'm looking for: Either a local tuner shop or a hand-held tuner that can turn off any Torque Management that's still active when Traction Control is off. If it's active when TC is on, that's fine.

    Santa was good to me!

I didn't get my Mustang Transformer! WAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

    Torque Management?

OK, thanks for help. I'm going to have to talk to a couple local tuner shops to see what they can do, too.

    Torque Management?

Does anyone know if any of the hand held reprogrammers for the S-197 allow torque management/throttle response adjustment for manuals and autos?

    Axle backs

Love my Flowmaster American Thunders, rest of exhaust is stock. If you want to turn heads, though, get the SLP Loudmouths.

    Torque Management?

I can't say that I feel cheated, because when I do go for a balls-out standing start, this Mustang is the easiest to launch with controlled wheel spin, and consistently, of any factory tuned Stang I've driven. And if you do want to light up the tires, upping the revs and playing with the clutch...

    Torque Management?

Just a guess on my part, Siggy. I'm looking for verification of it myself. But I have seen several posts about "Torque Management" to control torque loads at different RPM's. Other car manufacturers use it, especially with automatics. Mercedes uses it to limit torque output on their insane...

    Torque Management?

Yep, that's exactly what it's like. This isn't a problem when launching (raise the revs and slip the clutch a bit and it'll light the tires nicely) or shifting, just getting on it in the gear you're in. And it's not the engine bogging. It really does feel like they programmed to not allow...

    Torque Management?

Makes sense, just haven't seen any professional tuning company say they know about this or can disable it. But I haven't looked that hard, just now starting to consider a tune. The reason I'm interested in this is that my 2000 GT manual, completely stock except for Flowmasters and 3.73...
