Need Help w/ Sound Insulation for '65 Coupe

This is great info. I have been searching for the past few days as to where to install my dynamat and where it is a waste of time and money. It just seemed to me to be overkill to blanket the whole car and you confirmed that for me. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. You saved me a some...

T5 swap Got a few Questions.

That crossmember is for 67-70. They don't mention 71-73 or what I call the big bodies. I forget that others (65-66 guys) think the 67-70 are big.

T5 swap Got a few Questions.

Sorry I thought the first responder got your questions answered so I figured I would help the other guy out. The only way to know for sure is to measure it yourself as a lot of things have happened to these cars in 40 yrs. Find a nice level parking spot. Then stick an angle finder on...

T5 swap Got a few Questions.

Your buddies clutch won't work with your flywheel. His flywheel won't work with your engine. You can buy an adapter plate and use all your clutch/bell housing. Then you bolt the 5 speed in. Fab up or buy (I don't know if they make them for the big bodies) a crossmember and you are done...

(I think) Timing chain issue... might explain dyno/starting/timing issues..

Did you ever check your floats? I just had basically the same problem. I was chasing this thing all over the place and it turns out that the secondary float was sticking. This was allowing gas to dribble out of the boosters. Same issue you have where one minute it runs good and then it...

    68 289 turbo or supercharge ?

Some people think the turbo kills the sound. Some people love the sound of the turbo spooling and the blowoff valve popping. I guess my point is a 500 hp (whether boosted small block or rowdy big block) is still a handful of fun. The fact is there is no "cheap" way to get big power. If...

T-5 behind 351 Cleveland in 70 'Stang questions

We swapped a t5 in for a toploader. We used stock mechanical linkage, stock bellhousing, stock clutch, stock pressure plate, stock throwout bearing. The only thing we did was add the spacer plate from cal pony cars. Everything else was stock toploader stuff. Stock cleveland bell just needs...

Need some basic direction: c4 vs. T5

I forgot you had a 3 speed. I kept thinking you had a c4 from the subject title. One thing you would need to modify if using spacer plate and bellcrank is the bellhousing. You need to drill some holes in the bell to attach the spacer. Driveshaft shortening seems be sporadic among...

Need some basic direction: c4 vs. T5

Not if you use the manual bellcrank linkage and spacer plate. The only thing you might need to change would be drilling a hole for the clucth linkage in the firewall. I am not sure if the hole was pre drilled at the factory on auto cars. Either hydraulic or cable would require additional...

Need some basic direction: c4 vs. T5

any of the transmissions I mentioned will be easier than a t5. The t5 swap requires some custom parts which will either $ or fabricate. The 4 speeds will bolt up and use the existing linkage. I don't have experience with 3 speeds so I can't say for sure that the driveshaft will bolt up...

Need some basic direction: c4 vs. T5

there are a couple. 4 speed toploader (more common in later stangs) 4 speed t-10 (more common in early stangs 65ish) 4 speed srod (late 70's overdrive piece o' crap)

    351W Re-blown

They are local to me and have been around for over 20 yrs that I know of maybe more. Since they are local just about every car with a roots blower around here is running a dyers. My old neighbor had a 871 on his 4 bolt main 383 sbc. It put out enough power to split the block. In the 4 years...

SN95 caliper to Granada spindle bracket

Have you thought about a granada spindle and a larger rotor 13 inch with cobra (PBR) calipers? I would like to get bigger rotors however I have granada spindles and I haven't seen an available kit that will wirk with the granada spindle. Since my drum spindles are long gone I would have to...

    Rear main leak options

Just an update in case someone ever does a search. I finally got around to pulling the trans and flywheel. I can say that my stock 94+ 351w crank has blind holes so no sealant is required. Once I pulled it apart I could see that my leak appears to be from the oil pan. Good luck chasing the leaks

    Rear main leak options

Everything I have read would indicate that the 351w flywheel bolt holes are blind so oil should not get past. I haven't checked my stock late model crank. I have a leak from somewhere back there so I am at least going to drop the pan and then I can check for sure. RV
