    Rear main leak options

It could....... but truthfully the path of least resistance would indicate that as soon as the oil reaches the crank snout it will gravitate down between the flywheel and the block. I don't think it would be able to wick it's way to the face of the flywheel and clutch disc. With a helper...

    Rear main leak options

If it didn't leak before the tranny install I would guess is that it's not the rear main. My guess is you had a new flywheel put on at the time of the tranny install? They probably didn't put sealant on the flywheel bolts. The threads for the flywheel on the 302 are open to the crankcase...

    351W pushrod length

8.2 seems to be the standard for the 351 w. My 351 is a roller block with windsor jr heads and roller rockers. I used 7.5

    Explorer Serpentine on a 65 289

If you are using the 289 balancer you will need to change that out as it only has 3 holes for the pulley. The explorer pulley will have 4 holes. In 1970 ford switched the 302 balancer to a 4 hole so any balancer for a 302 from 1970 to 1981 should work. The 302 in 82 and up vehicles uses a...

    9h7----doae heads

google "clevor" for more info on this swap. With the abundance of aftermarket heads available for the 351w many people think it's not worth the trouble to use cleveland heads on a windsor. It seems that the intake manifold is the hardest part. On a 302 you can use a boss 302 manifold...

    headers question

http://www.carcraft.com/howto/ccrp_0805_1967_ford_mustang_engine_swap/photo_16.html I misspoke before it's actually the 5&6 cylinder that get in the way on the 351 on the 302 I think it would fit. The issue you will run into is that there is no way those 88308 will fit a 351 in at 64-66...

    headers question

My setup is 68 351w with world windsor jrs t5 homemade cable clutch using a fox body cable and manual steering. The 88300 line of header will not fit a cable clutch on a 351. The increased deck height puts the 5 and 8 tubes right in front of the bellhousing boss. They do clear my pitman...

    headers question

Before you buy any headers check that they fit those windsor jrs. The plug angle is different than stock and I can say for sure that hedman 88400 shorties will cook the plug boots. Hedman 88660's are better but will still cook the boots. I am going to get hedman 88300's this afternoon and see...

Had a problem at the track last night, need advice

That might be your problem. My z bar would flex a bit and would hang up on the headers sometimes. This is exaggerated when the engine rocks back an forth on full throttle blasts. RV

New distributor gear when installing new cam?

You are right on the 302 but he is running a flat tappet cam in his 351w so basically any duraspark 351w dizzy for a carbed application (mid 1970's to mid 1980's) will work for him. For me I am running a roller cam 351w so I removed the steel gear from a 302 efi/ TFI style dizzy and...

How much is the new combo gonna make?

These are all simulations so who the hell knows how accurate they are. The windsor jrs have the 1.94 valve and much lower flow numbers <200 on the intake and max of about 150 on the exhaust.

New distributor gear when installing new cam?

absolutely an option. any non efi truck with a 351w can provide a donor like an 84 bronco. They were all flat tappet so the gear will be compatible. no need to buy an hei module since you already have an msd box just plug the dizzy to a msd box magnetic trigger with the adapter harness or...

How much is the new combo gonna make?

Using those flow numbers it says 410.5 hp @ 6000 428.9 ft/lbs @4000 Yeah it provides simulation numbers with all their different cams. You can obviously enter head flow data. The one gotcha is that the intake manifold selection is very weak. They give you 3 options Dual Plane-std...

How much is the new combo gonna make?

I have the standard twisted wedge cylinder head flow data and that maybe will provide a decent estimate. Camquest shows at a compression ratio of 9.3 397.7 hp 425.0 tq I also changed the compression ratio up and the increase was minimal. compression ratio of 9.5 401.5 hp 428.1 tq...

How much is the new combo gonna make?

Any chance you have the flow data for the heads? I have the compcams camquest software installed. I can input the cylinder head flow data and then maybe get a decent estimate. I have already input the data for my cylinder heads (Windsor Jrs.) and using that cam it lists 350 hp and 400 tq. RV

    Mid-teardown questions...

Sorry to sidetrack your thread with my issues. I have basically the same dish without the reliefs and I have been trying to ascertain the same info. After looking at the first pic I can see a portion of what would appear to be the part number under the dish. Clean the rest of that off and...
