    It should run them okay with underdrive pullies. I have the 3G alternator with underdrive pullies and it powers almost everything at idle. You can't put on every single thing, however. But then again, when are you going to use the defrost and AC at the same time? Make sure you use a 1 7/8"...

    This probably won't cure it, but you're supposed to have the TPS set below 1 volt with the throttle closed

    Start by replacing your oxygen sensors. If they're old that is. Air filter next. Set your throttle position sensor and replace if necessary. Do you have a check engine light?

    I had the dimming headlights at idle problem and it is VERY annoying. I put in a 3g alternator and that fixes the dimming headlights, but if you have a few more accessories it still dims, although not as much. My car came with UD pullies and if I had the choice I would not have got them...

    Don't know exactly about the 50/50 thing, I think they are damping rates. Quad shocks are two diagonally mounted extra shocks (aka axle dampers) that bolt to the axle and attach to the frame. Their purpose is to help prevent wheel hop. If you have a 91 LX 5.0 you have them.

    Does removing the smog pump cause trouble codes?

    Mine threw an 81 for the "thermactor air circuit". It means either lean or not switching on. Based on the fact that I have terrible gas mileage and black tailpipes (not to mention the rich smell) I'm going to have to guess that mine just aren't turning on.

    So that's what those colored things are ;). If a fusable link broke, did you have to replace the wire or what?

    I'm considering doing it, but I it might cause a trouble code. Plus I don't like loose wires just hanging around.

    I wondered this too. I've disconnected mine because of idle surge and I'd rather keep it off. The only problem I can see is that it doesn't idle high when it's cold, but I'd like to hear other opinions on it too.

    The stock alternator didn't have a fuse. So I assume the reason people put fuses on the bigger ones are because they are capable of doing more damage to the harness?

    That sucks! Sorry about your luck. If they total it, what are you going to do? Be sure to show them and be able to prove every mod you have so you can at least get some money back. Either that or ask them if you can take the parts you want off.
