    You could have a sticky IAC (idle Air Control valve). I had one go bad on my Ranger and it never threw a code. If the motor itself is working it won't throw a code but the plunger may be stuck which is what mine did.

    One thing I've found is even new plug wires can be bad. I had 2 out of 6 bad in the last set I bought and they were an expensive brand. Anyway I would check those first.     Man there are a lot of possibilities for that one. You're going to have to see if it's fuel or ignition. I had a car that would die every time I made a left turn. That sure took some time to find cause as soon as I sratightened it out it would start right up.

    That's a throttle body injection then. You might try a new fuel filter and make sure the air filter is OK.

    I would put the car on jack stands and run it in gear. It could be a bearing which may not make noise without a load on it. Have the gears or diff been replaced or is it all stock?

    Mines an 04 and the stock wheels were 16" X 8". Don't know the stock back spacing though cause those wheels are long gone. Either you changed the date of the car or I miss read it so never mind.

    Another way to tell if a head gasget is blown is to remove the radiator cap (while it's cool) and let the engine run. Watch the water for any bubbling, it should be smooth flowing, if there is you have an internal leak into a combustion chamber.
