    Just had transmission rebuilt...problems?

Throw out bearings can be VERY tempramental. I NEVER reuse a TOB when doing a clutch install, for the $30 its not worth the aggrivation. If the tranny guy didnt replace the TOB then that could be the problem. I do believe that most tranny shops replace the TOB no matter what. If its a new...

    Bellhousing to block dowel?

Yep, use em. Oh, and make sure the flywheel has the little dowel pins in that to locate the pressure plate.

Decision on buying a 91 LX 5.0 AOD

I did the T-5 conversion on my 91 coupe. I got the complete set up for $900, that included everything, even a new King Cobra clutch, machined flywheel and a B&M Ripper shifter. The tranny was rebuilt with about 5000 miles on it also. The actual conversion isnt to bad, theres a few good sites...

    header bolt question

I get it with a wrench. I have Stage 8 header bolts that have 12 point heads so I can get a bunch of different wrench positions. Just be paitent. Try taking a few things off so you can get at the area a little better.

Consider yourself lucky its coming out that drain tube and not soaking your carpet with anti freeze because thats pretty common also.

Foxes with 18" rims Lets see 'em!

Thanks for the compliment! As for the hood... It was on there when I bought the car, all painted and striped. If I had it to do myself I would have chosen another hood also. So no hard feelings on your opinion. It would be a nightmare and costly to change it now so i'll let it grow on me.

Foxes with 18" rims Lets see 'em!

To be honest, the springs were in there when I bought the car. I know they're BBK cause they're blue and say BBK right on them. I would assume they've been in there quite a while (a few years anyway). If I were to hazard to guess i'd say they're the cheaper "Specific Rate" springs.

That drain is where the AC condensation drains out when you run the AC. If your heater core is leaking anti freeze inside the heater box then its coming out that drain hole.

    Decelerating issues help

You're saying "it'll give a big rev", what exactly do you mean? Is the engine reving itself up between these gears like someones pressing the throttle? Or is it down****fting from 2nd to 1st while the engine is still high in RPM's? Like if you downshifted a standard tranny from 2nd to 1st at...

    Good welder for $300-400?

I'd say look at some Miller mig welders. You can get a good one for about $1000. You dont want to go to big because some of the bigger models have a hard time welding sheetmetal if you ever get into doing bodywork. We've got an older Millermatic 150 which works great for just about everything...

having a little backlash noise with new 8.8

And it didnt do this at all with the other rearend or are you doing all these things trying to find something wrong with it? Everythings tight under there? Upper and lower control arms? Quad shocks? Wheels? Loose control arms can make very odd noises from very odd places. Make sure those control...

having a little backlash noise with new 8.8

Boy, I just pulled the axles on my car this summer and if I recall it took all of 2 quarts but I dont know the exact spec on it. I think I used all of 2 quarts plus the bottle of friction modifier so 2+ quarts.

having a little backlash noise with new 8.8

Was the car level when you added the fluid through the fill plug in the front of the rearend? If the back was just jacked up then you could be a little low on fluid. The fluid makes its way into the axle tubes so you dont have to add any into the tubes. For the 1/4" of driveshaft movement, I...
