    what brand clutch cable quadrant and adjuster?

    +1 on the factory cable. Best you can get. A good alternative is the Maximum Motorsports cable. Also, their quadrant and firewall adjuster are very nice. Im running them and wouldnt hesitate to buy from them again.

    Theres a specific idle reset procedure that can be found on many sites, probably even here. I had to do it when I first got my car. May want to look into that. Could also check for vacuum leaks.

    I never really liked the look of the targa top but I only have internet pictures to go on. Maybe seeing one in real life would be different. Wish there was a T-top conversion kit on the market. I'd be into that.

    Suggesting it to be cleaned was only intended to be a form of diagnostic. If its cleaned and shows improvement, I'd feel a lot better going to buy a new one as opposed to hoping that's the problem and shelling out 50 bucks...

    Its funny because all the work Ive done over the years and Ive never had one break. I go to do the gears in my car and it snapped like nobodys business. Luckily where it broke I was able to use a pick and unthread it. Most people arent that lucky.

    Dealer would likely be the only place that would have had access to them but unlikely theyd be able to get any for our model years. Or if they did, I wouldnt want to see the price. Id check the classifieds for a cluster like has been stated or you could try one of the Mustang specific salvage yards.

    Those dont sound too bad. Another place you can check out is astroperformance.com. Thats where I get all my T5 rebuild parts from. They have fair prices on beefed up T5s. Also, check the classifieds. A lot of people get rid of good quality T5s when they upgrade to TKOs and T56s.
