    2+2GT, Distributor Curve Questions??

If it was mine I would shoot for 16* initial, 18* mechanical and 10* vacuum. 24* mechanical is too much. It limits your initial to around 10*. Extra initial will make the motor more responsive.

    8.8 rear end swap

What did it come out of? Are talking dust shields? Explorer 8.8? I had a 95GT 8.8 in mine with 02ish MachI wheels on mine w/o spacers and it worked fine. I also had 15x8 wheels with 5.5 be with 275/50/15 drag radials.

    8.8 rear end

I never take mine apart. Never had an axle brake either.

    8.8 rear end

Strong, cheap and everywhere. It all depends on how much power you plan to make. For a mild build an 8" is plenty. I originally put a 95 GT 8.8, which also has disc brakes, in my 67 with late model wheels and no spacers. I had less than $200 in the rear end. It held up fine at around...

c4 rebuild - thrust washers and bushings

Look in the local phone book or google automatic transmission parts. Most big cities have a trans parts store. The thrust should cost around $2. it has been a while since I did a pump bushing and don't have my book here. Some people use a C6 bushing in a C4. Same diameter, but wider.

    rear speakers make me cry.

If you want bass you need an amp. I don't think there is any way around it. I have cheap 6x9s and a good amp and hearing the stereo with the windows down at 70mph is not a problem.

    fuel efficient 289?

And at what speed gtss? I drive 75-80 on the interstate and don't care if it gets bad mileage. If it was my daily I might care a little more, but I doubt it. I have a Suburban daily driver, 18mpg@80mph.

Dextron 5 in c4 after rebuild?

The fluid you use has a lot to do with what friction plates are used. Friction modifiers usually mean something added to smooth out shifts.

Dextron 5 in c4 after rebuild?

You might be surprised what will work in a C4. Mine has 0-20w Mobil1 motor oil. A more common fluid is John Deere highgaurd.

    how hot is too hot?

If you are worried about temps in April, how do you think it will be in August? I want mine to be able to run on the t-stat, which it does, even with a pusher fan and way more under the hood heat than most. My car did run a little warm on the interstate with the e-fan off because of the large...

8333 or 8548-pt2 felpro head gaskets

A street 302 should not have head gasket trouble. The 9333 is a good gasket at a good price.

Bad idle at leaner AFR with holley

More details on the cam, ignition timing and compression. All of those matter. Also how much of the transition slot is showing? It should look like a square when viewing from the bottom. Leaning the idle should not give you white smoke. Could it be steam from humidity? DP's are know for...

    Turbo Headers for a 65 with a 351w

Rear mounts are known for high back pressure. It does not mean the can not make power, but there is a reason why most people put them up front. I think Dustin should make you a kit with twins on either side of the bell housing. Like a compound Hellion kit for Cobra/GT500.

Where to put all these gauges?

I may go this route later. Auto Meter I will have to save a little money though. Crazy as it sounds...I don't want it to look too modified. I could pretty much keep everything in the stock holes. If I could only hide the cage.

Where to put all these gauges?

I have too many and want ideas where others are mounting them. Pictures would be great. I have boost, A/F, trans temp and oil temp to find a home for. Any year pics would be great, 67-68 especially.

    Turbo Headers for a 65 with a 351w

64-66 + 9.5 block + shock towers = no turbo. Change any of those and it is possible. There just is not a good way to get the exhaust forward. It is not easy in a 67+. I would look at a turbo bigger than 76mm. An 80mm would be the smallest I would put on a 408. 10secgoal has built several...
