    I really couldn't remember. I changed it way back in '94. The color really doesn't matter anyway. It's the 23 tooth count that does. BTW - The factory gear for my original 3.08 was powder blue. I still have it.

    If I remember correctly, there is just one 10mm bolt holding the speed sensor to the trans and you'll need the black gear for 3.73's.

    Ditch the B303 cam. I made the mistake of trying to run one after my first engine mod back in '95. Injected 5.0 HATE these cams due to the overlap. With 1.6 rockers use the Crane 2030 and with 1.7's use the Crane 2031. You won't be disappointed.

    Rear End Noise

    Sounds to me like either your backlash is set wrong or your pinion bearings may be shot. You can check the pinion bearings by raising the rear end off the ground and rotating the tires back-and-forth. If you see the pinion yoke moving in and out, your bearings are no good.

    If you can hear your fuel pump, then I would check elsewhere. Put a gauge on the fuel rail to check the pressure there. Although not the safest thing to do, you can disconnect the fuel filter, add a hose, and run the pump into a pail to check the flow. Don't by-pass the filter and run the car...

    Intake for twisted wedge heads?

    I did run a Cobra intake with my TFS heads, but the port sizes are VERY different! The Cobra casting will barely cover the TFS ports. I was having problems keeping my intake gaskets from ripping and tearing. I switched to a TFS intake and have been extremely satisfied.

    You could always try brake fluid. It'll take a bit of "sitting" time, but it'll take the paint right off. FYI - An old modeler's trick: Brake fluid is also a great way to remove paint from some types of plastic. The brake fluid attacks the paint without disolving the plastic. (always test first!)

    Do you have a T5 or an AODE? Tranny fluid burns white. If the AODE vacuum module gets a hole in its diaphragm, you'll end up sucking tranny fluid into the engine.
