I have a 99 and my saddle is closer to ur seat color as opposed to your trim color. I'm waiting on what is found out here too because I want new seats in my car, but it's hell trying to find saddle colored racing seats.
I'm not doubting you(I don't know it all by any means). Don't stang rims come with like 24mm backspacing? Assuming that is true wouldn't the backspacing be like 54mm, or the rims stick way out?
I was thinking about going with Spec because alot of people rave about them. The shop where I get my work done said they installed three identical clutches on three mustangs and the clutch feel was different on each car. They aren't big on Spec. They are the only shop I trust with my car so I...
Just buy a Cobra..... LOL. This is all I've added and I dyno'd at 315rwhp.
-C&L Cold Air Intake
-C&L 80mm mass air
-C&L True Flow pipe
-BBK Twin 65mm Throttle body
-SCT tuner
-Steeda non-piggy back style underdrive pulleys
Drivetrain:
-MGW shifter
-RAM HD Clutch
-RAM...
I had a McCleod, I liked it until it died. I switched to a RAM HD with a RAM aluminum flywheel. I love it so far, but I had it put together specifically for my set up. It's a dual friction organic/kevar disc. But the clutch and flywheel cost me almost $1000.
There is a guy around here with an EVO. It's all stock and he thinks he can own everyone. I spanked him in my 99 Cobra and just cause I lost interest he does a "ricer fly by" like he won or something. EVO's and STI's have to have serious work to play with Cobras or modded GT's. Put the same...
I just put a RAM HD in my 99 Cobra. Holds up to 600hp and has a stock feel. I got a dual friction plate with organic on one side and kevlar on the other. So far it's great.
Not in a million years. My brakes on my Cobra are 13" and stock rims were 17". You could barely get your finger between the caliper and the rim. Yes the rotor is 13", but the caliper has to go on top of the rotor so it ends up being roughly 15-16" of clearance needed.
If you go with a Cobra R get a real one. I have a 99 Cobra with a real Cobra R dam. Main advantage..... the dam is removable. I would never drive with it on daily. But don't buy the fake ones because they aren't finished on the bottom back to the radiator support. The lip is just out there...
I have a friend who has a WS6 TA and it only comes with 345hp. That's only 25 more than a 99-01 Cobra. Then take the fact that the Cobra has a 4.6 and the WS6 has a 5.7. AND..... the TA's are almost ALL fiberglass. Camaro's are the almost the same set up as a TA(if I'm not mistaken). My...
I got an MGW to replace a Pro 5.0 shifter and it was as noticeable as replacing the stocker with the Pro 5.0. If for no other reason get it because you can put the handle in any position you want. My 5th gear is now where 3rd used to be. Had it a year and never regretted it one day.
Dude I think you have a crappy time ahead of you either way. I bought one for $500 total, but that was the tuner + 2 custom tunes + dyno time to create the tunes. I feel ur pain and that's why I bit it and bought the new one.
They are almost impossible to find but I have Kenny Brown springs on my car and they are a 2" drop. I love them. The rates are perfect for autocross. Try Eibach, Kenny Brown is best in my opinion, but with Kenny not back on the market yet..........
I'm in the same boat. When I get the time I'm draing and refilling with Redline fluid. I've been told Redline and Royal Purple is the best. A local speed shop said it's pretty easy to do on the IRS as long as you have the right tools.
I have a dynomax OR x pipe(2.5") leading into a MAC 3" catback with 3.5" tips. It's extremely loud, but in open air the car sounds like it's in a tunnel. I love it, but it isn't a daily driver. If you run cats I think you could tone it down and not be offensive.
I have an original 2000 Cobra R air dam for my 99 Cobra. I hit something on the interstate that popped one of the dzus fasteners off the air dam. It knocked the one off the side that is 1.25" long total. Ford Racing says they no longer sell the air dam and I can't find a dzus fastener that is...
