    Drop Springs 1 inch Help!!!

If you used the negative wedge kit that allows a 2 inch drop on 67- cars, plus 1" lowering springs, wouldnt the car be too low? Would a 3 inch drop not cause your wheels to rub?

How vital is garaging a classic Stang?

I was faced with the same dilema when i bought mine. I had 2 choices. Wait another 5 or so years until i buy my next house with a garage and possibly die in the meantime and never had the joy of owning a mustang. Or buy one now, love it, enjoy it, protect it with the best car cover...

    Pistol grip on a mustang?

Thanks guys. I found a hurst pistol grip hadle made of what looks like aluminium. Unlike the Doge pistol grip handles, it doesnt have a bend at the base so i would need to get a Hurst shifter stick with a second angle in it so the pistol grip points away from me. I wonder woud the metal...

    interior color change

One thing i always find with classic cars that have so many options available for them is that you are always looking for a way to change your car believeing it will imporove the look of it. My Highland green fastback has a black interior which i was considering changing to parchment to...

    Desperate for a center console!

If its in good shape grab it. I paid $450 for a 1968 Mustang centre console. Now it was mint and i think the cougar consoles are worth less but $190 for a good console is a steal. These were optional extras over 30 years ago, to find a good one is difficult, regardless of price.

Front re-allignment has dropped my front suspension by over an inch??

It was also toed in, so maybe thats what dropped it, i dont know, but it has dropped and looks fantastic. How can toe in effect height anyway? I'm no mechanic so i dont really know much about this stuff. Any thoughts on whether i should replace my apparently perfect and tight upper and...

Front re-allignment has dropped my front suspension by over an inch??

This may not interest anyone on the board but i dropped my 68 fastback into my mechanic yesterday to have the front suspension re-alligned. Basically there was too much positive camber (my front wheels looked slightly bow legged) resulting in my front tyres wearing badly on the outer edges, and...

    Polyurethane, Polygraphite or Midolyne bushings?

Hi guys, I'm about to buy a front suspension upgrade kit and replace the remainder of my bushings but i am confused by the choice. It seems Polyurethane squeak and are very harsh. Polygraphite give the same ride but dont squeak and Midolyene give you the strength of urethane with a softer...

Why didnt they modle the car after 67&68?

Apparaently it is not based on the 65-66 fastback. I know the pics of the concept featured a red 65'66 fastback, which suggested that the inspiration for the 05 model came from there, but in any interviews i've read with the engineers, designers they all say its based on the more agressive 67-68...

Any runours of a RHD for UK etc?

I've already looked into importing the car into Ireland and its relatively straight forward. i pay my $24,000 for the car and then give the Irish government another $12,000 in taxes. The shipping cost is around $2,000, so all in it'll cost me $38,000, which is around 31,000 euros. Thats...

    05 Mustang, the next classic?

I think ALL mustangs are classics in the eyes of Mustang owners and lovers. But in the eyes of the general public, and me personally, i think the 64-73 models are classics, but anything else, i'm not convinced. The new one though, it doesnt happen often, but i think we are looking at a...

Any runours of a RHD for UK etc?

I ask this question because i am thinking of importing the new Mustang (GT of course) in 2006 but would obviously prefer a RHD (I live in Ireland). I have a LHD 1968 GT fastback which i love and will keep but if i had a choice over a new LHD or RHD, i'd take the RHD. Also, if the mustang...

How much is VAT on a new car in the USA?

I understand that there is no sales tax on cars purchased for export, i suppose what i was trying to setablish is does the suggested retail price od $24000 include VAT? If it does, what is the rate? But based on what your telling me i would imagine the $24000 excludes tax. With regards to...

How much is VAT on a new car in the USA?

I ask this question as i am looking into importing the 2005 Mustang into Ireland. If i buy it brand new in the states i dont pay US VAT, but i have to pay 21% VAT in ireland, plus 30% VRT. But if i buy it second hand in the states i dont have to pay the Irish VAT, just 30% VRT on the...

How do you improve 'vague' steering?

I have a 68 gt fastback with power steering. I find it a little vague and the car tends to wander when you come hard out of corners. How do i make the steering more precise? Is it just a power steering rebuilt kit or is there more than that required to imporove steering. I am getting a front...

Dropped some serious dough at NPD today

I'm just about to drop $1500 on a car that is by all accounts perfect. Thats the drug though, isnt it? You can just never leave them alone. Most of my money is being spent on suspension and handling upgrades so $1500 is not a lot of money for that really. Brian

    Lower control arm bushing sizes???

yes, had a look, they're good value, but... they offer 3 or 4 bolt versions of the upper control arms. What does this mean, are there 2 types or is it down to personal taste? ie. does it depend on how my car is set up now? Also Thanks. brian

    Lower control arm bushing sizes???

In connection to an earlier post, how do i know what size Lower conrol arm bushings i need for my car? There is a choice of 1 7/16", 1 9/16" or from a different brand, 1.4375" OD, 1.5625" OD. Any ideas? I have a 68 GT with a 302 by the way. So far in the bushing department i'm ordering...
