    Great News out of Detroit

Why is that good news? Has the annoying insecurity that way too many Mustang owners have towards GM performance vehicles really gotten to the point that a major American manufacturers financial troubles are GOOD news? Do you dislike competition between brands? Do you want people to become...

Need Help threw some codes last night

I have seen bad alternators and batteries cause all kinds of funny things in the past, you are right on that. But usually by the time electronics start wigging out there will be other symptoms (slow cranking, dim lights, volt gage reading off, etc.), because all the sensors work on a 5V...

    Clunk when letting out clutch!!

How loud is it? The transmission in these cars is notoriously noisey/clunky/rattly/crappy, so you may just be hearing internal noise in the trans. But if it is loud enough to cause alarm, it has 400 miles, it MUST be under warranty, take it in and have a technician listen to it, he'll be able...

Need Help threw some codes last night

Nasty why do you suggest it would be the alternator? Judging by those codes, I'd suspect something in the camshaft position sensor circuit.... The P1000 code is nothing, that will be there a lot when the monitors are not all run. What I would do since there is no driveability problem, erase...

    2006 GT questions

These Mustangs seem to be pretty reliable. Other than a few small problems, there's really nothing that has shown up yet that you need to look out for.

Does this 06 have a Xpipe? ( pics inside )

It has a splice in X pipe behind the stock cats, nothing custom or welded, every company sells them you just cut the stock H pipe behind the cats and clamp this in. So if you want an offroad X you'd just have to unbolt the whole deal just as if it were stock. And I believe that Bassani...

    How much hp?

You'd make a lot more power with a better cam than the FRPP. But you don't need all that TGJ listed. There's a member on Moddedmustangs that made like 406, with I think stage 2 livernoise heads and stage 2 SPR comp cams. He had pretty much every bolt on still, but did not have an electric...

Strange I know but 16" v6 wheels fit on 05 GT?

No, not in the front. I'll trade ya for my 17 inch torque thrusts though if ya want lol

Tried to change my spark plugs!?!

You can buy the tool from Matco, and I THINK that Lisle tool makes a version that should be available from Cornwell, Matco, or Snap-on, and probably online. Don't know how much it costs, but it is not TOO difficult to remove them with the tool. You may get lucky and pull them out the way the...

Looking for wrecked 04 or newer

I don't have any leads for you, but just curious about what you intend to use from the newer Mustang? An 04 would have the 2v 4.6, whereas an 05+ would have a 3V. I'm not sure that a modular will fit in the super-narrow underhood area of a 66 Mustang, will it?

More header dillemas and a couple questions for anyone with Hooker Longtubes

I will. I might not do the dyno results now because 5.0 magazine just did that for us, and I got laid off from work so I'm broke now. But I will deffinetely do a writeup with pictures of the actual install.

what kind of fuel you use?

Vat you are somewhat right. The higher octane fuels are harder to ignite, so are less likely to preignite in a higher compression engine, that is why high compression engines need it, but the lower octane fuel actually has a higher energy content. That is why a car that does not need higher...

    over heating problems

yeah it deff. sounded like a fan problem, or low coolant but you checked that I assume. I'd be pissed if they set the fans up wrong and caused overheating.

    Did My First Oil Change

the people that put 5 in it really ought look int heir owners manual, rather than just believing that every car takes 5 lol. I wouldn't worry though, running one low won't hurt it, just put 6 in from now on please. 6.25 is probably right at the line like nasty said, because at 6.0 mine reads...

WTF? I buy my oil at Autozone and it's 7.20 a quart. They must have huge ohio markup or something.

    SLPs Too Loud for Wife

It's a little smoother and less obnoxious, so that may make it quieter. I agree, I'd do what nasty or heavy did. Or tell the wife, if it's too loud she's to old.

They aren't on the car yet, but they look to be pretty good quality. Only complaint I have is that there are a lot of spots where they missed the ceramic coating, like down near the collectors. When I put them on I will probably make a write-up with before and after dyno results.

    leafblower charger...

Never heard of conservation of energy? Energy changes forms, it is never destroyed or created. Example. your gasoline contains chemical energy, which is turned into heat energy in the cumbustion process, which is turned into kinetic energy as the engine moves the car, which is turned into...
