    Demon troubles!!!!

Ok i'm not a big fan of any of the Carbs on the market, but for tunability the demon is the best. The problems you are describing a pro carb mechanic can get that thing running like a top in a matter of minutes. Carb rebuilts are nothing but a bunch of new gaskets and a good cleaning. So The...

poll for which heads i should get

With stock pistons.. you can't use either heads(especially with healthy cam) without clearancing the pistons, which isn't hard. BUT factory pistons aren't designed with enough meat in the areas needed to clearance for the TWs. Truth be told, your car will perform excellent with the AFRs165...

    Major Problem!!!!

We just finished installing an 89 T5 with cable clutch and 89 bellhousing in the 68 Fastback, with very little fitment issues, it is tight at the shifter and floor area. Headers were the TriY's though which gave us plenty of room.

    Gimme some hp - how?

Good Heads(good aluminum ones are good for 50+ horse over the factory stuff), exhaust, intake, carb, cam, a set of rear gears, stall converter. If it were a perfect world, go with all the above, but start with Gears and exhaust and work you way up from there.

    Ford 4 speed flywheels (differences)

Too Bad you can't use a late model 157 toothed version, they are a 100 bucks for New ones(That's from ford) You could probably find 164 toothed NONE SFI rated fairly cost effective. As the SFI ones are going for 300ish! good Luck!

What I can get out of my 289?

How much power you get is directly related to how much money you are willing to throw at it. BTW 400hps out of 289 is doable, but reliablity/longevity goes down, not really ment to be used as a daily driver. In the day Shelby was known to get that kind of horsepower out of the 289's but...
