Where have all the Mustangs gone???

Geeze, why are you even bothering to look in the North East? Go South and West to Texas - Arizona - California . . . half the price - half the rust - half the work.

All fixed - All is right-side-up again in the world of Stangnet. Thank you to whoever fixed it. :nice::nice:

OK, I've tried everything on my end to fix this (system restore, uninstall/reinstall Firefox, create new Firefox Profile) and I've figured out that this a Stangnet issue. If I "Log Out" of Stangnet, the problem goes away. Same applies to IE.

Apparently it's just me and it's only within individual Stangnet threads. Even the stangnet logo, smilies and button text is upside down.

I can't say I'm surprised. I can only speak for myself. Knowing how much extra time it's likely to take to install a low quality cheap fender - Given the option, I'll go for quality vs. price. I have to admit, the past few years the cars have taken a back seat to several more important household...

Is it just me? Does anyone else here use Mozilla Firefox? All images inside individual threads are upside down. Doesn't happen on main pages, only within individual threads. Doesn't happen in IE. Only happening on Stangnet. Is this someones April Fools joke?

OT This thread is a perfectly fine open, civil, democratic discussion between people with different points of view. "OMG! Better squash that before someone learns something!" (says new 2 post mystery poster) No one is forcing you to read it.

Maybe I've gotten the wrong impression, but from all the times you (2+2GT) have answered my questions in the past (thank you), I assumed you had some vested interest in Glazier/Nolan Mustang Barn.

My price is probably high because I only deal with U.S. mold makers. I have plenty of horror stories about using overseas molds. It is possible to get quality parts from other countries, but you must have a liaison (that works for you) there to inspect and supervise the process.

I do this for a living GT. I got a 6 cavity die cast tooling quote just 2 weeks ago for parts substantially larger (imagine a 2.5" cube) and much more complex for $20,000. That's with everything purchased and machined in the U.S.

Yes, I could help solve it, but I’m not quite a fool. If Drake fixes their die in the meantime, I’m screwed. I’d never be able to compete with the distribution network they already have setup. Bottom line, designing state-of-the-art products for the U.S. Military is more rewarding, exciting and...

I'm sure they've made plenty of profit on them in the past 5+ years. Who said they're going to eat anything? They'll just deplete old stock then introduce new stock (if they actually fix it). Yes, I've priced die cast tooling many many times. Rough off-the-top-of-my-head estimate: I could get...

Substandard repros are responsible for over the top NOS prices.

I don't need it as I purchased several NOS off eBay long ago. As far as bending it to suit your preference: A. If you break it, you now own a classic "Mustan" emblem. B. If you succeed in bending it without breaking it (which I seriously doubt), I bet the pin sticking out the back of the "G"...

The lack of response from Drake1 (Joe Johnston) tells me all I need to know. :notnice:

That would be redemptive. When did you buy them? Please post a closeup photo. (Though no proof is as conclusive as a photo of the logo still in its SD packaging.) I ended up buying several NOS emblems off eBay.

@ Drake1 (Joe Johnston) I’ll give SD a chance at redemption. I took the pictures below in 2006. 5 years is surely enough time to have sold all your defective stock and make a new die. (Since I have been in the design and manufacturing business for 30 years, I’m well aware of how little it costs...

First impressions being what they are, this emblem was the first and last SD part I've ever purchased. Once I saw the difference in the "G" between the SD product and the original, I made the obvious deduction that their quality control is lacking, at best. This is not a defective part, it's a...
