Why Pass 05 and wait for 06??

The only reason to wait for an '06 (besides the SVT) is if you want to save up some extra money for the down payment. After the Focus ****up, Ford knows full well that a car as critical to the company image as the Mustang has got to be perfect. Sure, there will probably be a couple of recalls...

    Competition for the V6 mustang

They killed the F-body so they could build a truck to compete with the Mustang. Great... EDIT: They obviously tested against the current V6 Mustang. By the time the ZQ8-equiped trucks hit the market, the '05 will be almost out, and that will out-handle the truck by a big margin.

    05 with hood up

It's not the 04 Mach 1 engine by a long shot. Different intake, heads, computer, etc. A new intake design could implement a shaker-style hood, but it would take a lot of engineering work. We're more likely to see something like in the 03/04 Cobra with heat-extraction vents than we are to...

Transmissions available for the Vert and other questions

Both of those cars are aimed at totally different markets. Both of those cars are also strictly convertibles. The drivetrain and motor for the Mustang vert is the same as the the regular Mustang, so there's no reason they would limit it to automatic.

Transmissions available for the Vert and other questions

Nah, there's no logic behind offering only the automatic for the convertible. I'd love to see the T-56 available as an option at least on the GT, but that will most likely be reserved for the SVT and GTR-40 models. I really wish I didn't know that there was going to be a GTR-40, or that I knew...

Spy Shot of 06 Cobra Test Mule??

GTR-40 is all I'm gonna guess. Presumably it's going to be the Cobra R replacement. Something to let the world know that not only is this the most badass generation of production Mustang ever, but that it's flexible enough to support a Z06/Viper-eating muscle car. I'm thinking the Ford GT...

Pics of the 3 valve heads

For a stock casting, that's pretty damn nice looking. I guess it's good that these are so smooth, because aftermarket heads are going to be a looooong way off (it's taken awhile for the industry to produce 2V heads, let alone 4V!) Should be easy to run some nice boost with combustion...

Oh sure, that's real fair. It's fair when you don't have the Amish, whose buggies tear up the roadways something aweful with their metal wheels, and the horse crap they leave all over the road. They don't pay a cent towards road maintenance, despite causing consdierable damage. But I'm not...

    new 3.5L V6

Where has it been said that the 4.0 SOHC is going to be gone in two years? I hope this is a stated fact from Ford and not another assumption. Because, you know, most people assumed the 3.8 OHV V6 would not still be around today. In fact, it wouldn't have been I suspect if not for the lack of...

    new 3.5L V6

I really don't know where you guys keep getting the idea that we're going to see a 3.5L Duratec in the Mustang. It's like the $20K V8 rumor, but with less substance to it. I'd love to see that motor, but it's too expensive for the base model Mustang. Maybe in a SOHC variant, but the DOHC...

Ford GT dyno numbers are in !

I get definate power degredation running 87 in my car (10.0:1 comp. ratio) vs running 93 or 94. Like a lot of other cars, it has a knock sensor and will retard timing. Audi specifically states in the manual that if you must run below 91 octane to stay out of the higher RPM range as you could...

    What does Japan think?

You totally missed my point. Yes, competition is a good thing. But you know what? It doesn't help the US economy as much when you buy a foreign vehicle as it does when you buy a domestic vehicle. If Ford/GM had an 80% market share in the US, the economy would be stronger than ever, and there...

    What does Japan think?

Yep. It's horrible to be biased towards one's own nation. What kind of ignorant ass would ever have so much pride in the country he resides in that he might prefer it to another? If you don't understand, that was sarcasm. It has nothing to do with belief that your country's products are...

Ford GT dyno numbers are in !

The Z06 won't be making more than 500hp at the wheels. It's just using a tweaked version of the 6.0 LS2 motor from what I understand. Now, the ZL1 might well get the twin turbo 427 putting out "650" horses (if a tt 427 is only putting out 650, something's wrong). But then, there hasn't been...

$3-$4 a Gallon for Premium Gas + 18 mpg Mustang

Those are some interesting numbers. Am I correct in understanding that Sunoco does not in fact use middle eastern oil then? I generally only put Sunoco in my car anyway, but this is interesting to learn.
