    Painting Fanblades - rice?

I really think it will depend on the color of the car. On some of the lighter colors, silvers and such, I think it can look awesome, like the pics from AquaTeen2004. But on a torch red, I think it may be a bit too much. I'd have to see a picture of it done, but even visualizing it in my...

    If you had $2k.......

Really depends on what you want to do with the car. Personally, I'd start with a CAI/tuner, then gears. After that, I'm torn between an aluminum drive shaft, or longtubes and h pipe. Personally I'm leaning towards the longtubes.

    Catted exhaust

Sorry to partially hi-jack here, but does anyone happen to know if the hi flow cat prochamber will work with long tube headers? The website doesn't really have any definitive information. I'd love to run long tubes, a pro chamber with highflow cats, and stock mufflers. Ideally bolt on, with...

Fixing small nick in leather on steering wheel?

I've got a few small scrapes, almost perforations on the underside of the bottom of my wheel that have been there since the beginning. Unfortunately I didn't notice them until about a month after I bought it. I don't see them, so I don't really worry about it too much. The only thing that...

    EGR Valve

In addition to those symptoms, the EGR can cause many other odd problems, just like a bad PCV valve can. You'd be surprised how such a small cheap part like a PCV valve can make you run in circles trying to figure out what's wrong. What are you experiancing, and why do you think its the EGR...

    Complete shifter!!!

I don't have a shifter yet, but it is close to the top of my list for the first mods..... First off, I am the first to say that form follows function. As long as it works I don't care what it looks like. That being said, am I the only one that would LOVE to see a shifter of MGW quality with...

Thud from rear/d.s. area when cold on 07 GT manual

I'm not sure if I'm hearing you right, but I also have a slight thud when taking off cold. After the start up, I'll pull off in first, and then as soon as I push the clutch in, I hear a slight thud/clunk from the rear. Once I shift into second, everything is fine, and I don't hear it again...

    Trouble with stock shifter?

I'm still using my stock shifter, although I plan on swapping in the Hurst (whether other here say it's worth it or not) That being said, I haven't had any real problems with my stock shifter. The first time I shifted hard from 2nd to 3rd, I missed the shift, and ended up grinding third...

    Yes I'm a Noob

I can only assume that you want to swap the rubber belt that connects the crank to the cams with a chain..... If that is what you mean, I haven't heard of anyone attempting such a thing, for many reasons. Don't be too concerned about it though... you'll have much larger problems with the...

    How tall is hurst?

I'm with you guys... old school is the way to go with these cars. I may only be 24, but I eat, sleep and breath the muscle car era. I swear that I was born about 35-40 to late. Others swear that the the MGW, Pro 5.0, Tri-ax, or what have you are "better" shifters, but I feel it all comes down...

    Throttle lag for engine braking

I'm sure that the lag is intentional from Ford, in response to emissions requirements. It is annoying, but it can be dealt with. As far as engine braking goes though... the only time that I use it would be in going down a relatively steep hill. If you're just slowing down on a flat surface, I...

New Member: My first Mustang :)

Congrats on the new ride, I'm also driving my first ever Mustang GT and I'm loving it. I came from a POS mazda 626, that had a whopping 98 hp at the wheels. Needless to say, the difference is unbelievable. Having always been an old muscle car fan ( I would be driving a 69 Chevelle SS with a...

    Tinted windows/axle back

I never thought a dark tint could look so good on a light colored car. That looks fantastic though.... so good, that it almost looks photoshopped. P.S.... I love the spoiler delete you have. I hope you get as many compliments on it as I do! gotta love the clean rear end!:nice:

    Would you trade-in for a C5 Corvette?

One other thing to consider, is tradition. The Mustang has always looked to it's root and stayed true to the original. If you look at any Mustang, and break it down to it' components, it has always remained basically the same car. On the other hand, the Corvette has always pushed the limits of...

    Throttle lag for engine braking

I also hate the lag time for the engine to return to idle. I'm still running a stock tune for the moment, but it's very annoying. Say for instance, I punch it in first, all the way to the redline. Once I let off the gas and drop it into neutral, it will take a solid 6 to 9 seconds for the...

Favorite colors for the 07 6ers and V8's

Only Vista blue for me. When looking at the dealership, the vista cars really stand out in the line up, when you're looking at 50+ mustangs. Glad I got the vista blue, and I'll never look back. :nice:

    Would you trade-in for a C5 Corvette?

Being an old chevy fan, I'd trade my stang for most any corvette, with the exception of those made before 1955, and also with the exception of the C4. Aside from that, I'd take most any of them. If I had my choice, I'd take either a C6 Z06, or a 63 split window stingray. Granted, I'm living...

Prospective owner asks: V6 or V8?

The V8 really does get some pretty good mileage, all things considered. Granted, it may not be as good as a new C6 vette in MPG/HP, but it's still an efficient engine. I'm a broke post-grad student, but I still don't have a problem filling up. To me, the price of a tank of gas is small...

    homemade mil eliminators??

Let me start by saying that I have NO experience with MIL eliminators. So take this with a grain of salt. Looking at the electrical schematic, I'm skeptical. I'm first of all assuming that the two white wires are power (one to heat the O2 sensor, one to power the sensor), the black is...

How strong is the COP ignition?

If you a seriously thinking of running 20 psi and an additional 100 shot on top of that with stock ignition, the only thing I can recommend is to do some more research. Granted, I'm not an expert, by any means. I just don't want to see you pre-detonate this thing. From my experience, the...
